About the role

The Aquatic Ecology team is part of AECOM's Environment & Energy department, which has been operating in Spain for over 40 years. We currently have a team of experts across the different fields of aquatic ecology, providing consulting services to a wide range of clients, both in the private and public sectors.

We are committed to the high technical qualification of all our staff to provide comprehensive service to our clients. We have our own laboratory, accredited by ENAC in accordance with ISO 17025, enabling us to assess the status of all quality indicators in aquatic ecosystems (biological, physicochemical, and hydromorphological).

To join the Aquatic Ecology team, we are looking for a graduate in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Forestry Engineering, or a related field, with experience in the study and environmental management of reservoirs and knowledge of aquatic ecology.

The main duties will be:

  • Office-based work for participation in reports and tenders related to the environmental management of reservoirs. Water quality, environmental impacts, water monitoring plans.
  • Design, planning, and execution of field campaigns for sampling and testing in surface and groundwater.
  • Processing of data collected in the field or compiled (preparation of tables and graphs)
  • Support in limnological sampling in rivers, lakes, and reservoirs across various projects.
  • Database management.
  • Preparation of field reports.

What we're looking for

Essential requirements:

  • Graduate in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Forestry Engineering or any related discipline to the environment and sustainability.
  • Experience in limnology work and reservoir management.
  • Valid driving license (B) and availability to drive to carry out fieldwork.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position (will be evaluated at the start of employment through a medical examination)
  • Availability to travel from Monday to Friday.
  • For good performance in the position, it will be necessary to work well in a team, show initiative, and also be able to work autonomously.

  • Experience in similar fieldwork.
