Job description

The Aquatic Ecology team is part of AECOM's Environment and Sustainability department, which has been operating in Spain for over 40 years. We currently have a team of experts in the various fields of aquatic ecology, providing consulting services to a wide range of clients in both the private and public sectors.

We are committed to the high qualification of all our staff to provide comprehensive service to our clients. We have our own laboratory, accredited by ENAC in accordance with ISO 17025, enabling us to assess the status of all quality indicators in aquatic ecosystems (biological, physicochemical, and hydromorphological).

To expand our team of experts, we are looking to hire a Macrophyte Specialist, whose main duties will be as follows:

  • Biological sampling in rivers and lakes (macrophytes).
  • Determination of macrophyte indices according to the MITERD protocol.
  • Support for sampling in rivers, lakes, and reservoirs across various projects.
  • Collaboration in drafting consulting reports for various clients, both in the public and private sectors.
  • Support for project managers in the management of projects.

Requirements

  • Experience of at least 3 years in macrophyte identification.
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Sciences, or any discipline related to Aquatic Ecology or Plant Biology.
  • Valid B driver's license and availability to travel to different work sites as required.
  • Ability to perform the functional requirements of the position (will be assessed at the start of employment through a medical examination).
  • The following will be highly valued:
  • Experience in drafting technical reports and managing projects.
  • Knowledge of GIS and R software.
