Senior Bridge and Structures Design Engineer

We are looking to hire a professional with:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Master's in Civil Engineering (Caminos, Canales y Puertos) from a recognized university. 

• A track record of more than 5 years of experience in bridge and/or structural design, having collaborated in international and multicultural teams at some stage.

• A fluent level of English in a professional environment (oral and written). 

• Familiarity with international standards (such as AASHTO; AREMA, Australian codes; British standards, etc.). 

• Proficiency in engineering software for bridges and structures (preferably Midas Civil, although others such as CSi Bridge, SAP2000, etc. will also be valued). 

• Ability to solve complex problems with limited guidance in the field of bridges and/or structures. 

We will positively value having worked on projects in the North America / ANZ region.

At AECOM, we are looking to hire a Senior Engineer with experience in bridge and/or structural design to reinforce our growing team within the Enterprise Capabilities area in Europe (Madrid). 

Our team has a solid track record in bridge and structure design in the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Latin America, and the Middle East. With us, you will be able to participate in iconic infrastructure projects in a diverse and multicultural environment. 

You will participate in all phases of project development, from conceptual and feasibility studies to preliminary and detailed designs, covering a wide variety of bridge and structure typologies. You will be part of large multidisciplinary teams for public and private clients, including major large-scale turnkey (Design and Build) projects. 

• Work as part of the bridges and structures team with other designers of the same functional level, who may be from different EC offices (Poland, Spain, India...), taking on projects of medium complexity.

• Coordinate and lead small design teams focused on structural design for a specific project. 

• Perform non-complex value engineering assessments, determining alternative designs, materials, and construction techniques. 

• Work autonomously within established procedures, with leeway to determine work priorities. 

• Perform quality control reviews of design calculations or drawings, including participation in interdisciplinary reviews. 

• Ensure compliance with project technical objectives, milestones, and budgets. 

• Prepare complex project deliverables with the help of a junior technical and support team, providing supervision and mentorship to less experienced colleagues.
