The role

Amazon's European First Mile network is one of the largest and most complex fulfillment operations in the world — spanning multiple countries, hundreds of nodes across fulfillment centers, inbound cross-docks, distribution centers, and same-day facilities, processing billions of units per year. The Sr. Manager, EU Supply Chain Execution owns the end-to-end First Mile solve for one of the two core flows — Inbound or Outbound — ensuring that weekly S&OP plans translate into real-world network performance.

This role leads a team of supply chain analysts and managers responsible for daily execution across the full EU First Mile network: monitoring backlogs, steering volume, pulling network-balancing levers, and making the real-time decisions that directly impact whether millions of customers receive their orders on time. The Sr. Manager doesn't just react — they own the E2E First Mile plan for their flow, building forward-looking solves across the fulfillment network while ensuring close coordination with Middle Mile and Last Mile (transportation) partners to deliver seamless end-to-end performance.

This is a strategic leadership role with pan-European scope. You are the direct business partner for FC Operations, Labor Planning, Placement, Transportation, Stores, FBA, and Finance — coordinating across multiple VP organizations and dozens of Directors across Operations and Business functions. You own the Quarterly Guidance strategy for your flow, setting the direction for how execution capacity evolves across planning horizons and aligning cross-functionally with senior leadership on trade-offs between customer experience, network capacity, and cost.

This role is critical for event and peak execution — Amazon's highest-volume periods where network decisions carry the greatest consequence. The Sr. Manager is responsible for ensuring their flow is ready, resilient, and performing through peak, coordinating rapid trade-off decisions when volume variability threatens the network. Furthermore, the Sr. Manager leads the Daily Business Review (DBR) mechanism throughout the year, gathering 50+ stakeholders up to Regional Directors and aligning on the actions required to support the network. This forum is a critical decision-making meeting where the majority of network balancing and steering decisions are made.

What makes this role unique is the complexity of the EU First Mile network. Over the last years, the network transformed from a flat architecture to a multi-tiered ecosystem with facilities specialized by function — inbound receiving, low-cost storage, regional distribution, robotics-optimized shipping, and same-day delivery. Each layer requires fundamentally different execution logic. On top of this, you navigate country-specific labor regulations (from rigid constraints in some markets to more flexible environments in others), forecast variability across countries, cross-border fulfillment flows, and the reality that some countries serve as valves for the broader continental solve. There is no single objective function to optimize: plans must solve within capacity constraints while minimizing cost and carbon footprint and maximizing delivery speed and accuracy. Your ability to synthesize competing priorities across functions, countries, and leadership levels is what keeps the network performing.

A core part of this role is leading the agentic transformation of supply chain execution. As AI transforms supply chain operations, execution is evolving from orchestrating semi-automated processes to owning the design, governance, and deployment of AI-driven network flow optimization and decision-support systems. The Sr. Manager will be expected to challenge the status quo, identify automation opportunities, and partner with technology teams to build agentic AI-powered tools that increase precision and speed to levels unachievable manually — allowing execution to scale without scaling the team linearly. This is not a future aspiration — it is a current priority and a key deliverable of the role.

This is a high-visibility position with direct exposure to senior leadership and significant scope for impact as the network continues its transformation.

Why This Role

Very few positions give you ownership of an end-to-end flow across an entire continent's First Mile network. The Sr. Manager, EU Supply Chain Execution doesn't just monitor dashboards — they own the solve, shape the quarterly strategy, and drive the automation that will define how Amazon's European network operates in the years ahead. When peak hits and every decision counts, this is the role at the center of it all. If you want to combine operational leadership with strategic impact at continental scale, this is the role.
