CanarySat, a company belonging to ARQUIMEA, will develop and operate global connectivity and secure satellite communications solutions, including the MAGEC constellation. Its services will support governments, companies, critical infrastructures, and mobility operators.
ARQUIMEA is a global technology company that develops innovative solutions and products for highly demanding sectors, such as aerospace, defense and security, big science, biotechnology, and fintech.
At CanarySat, we are looking for a CTO whose primary mission will be to lead the technical strategy and architecture of the MAGEC program, ensuring the coherence of all its segments and accompanying the development of the constellation from mission definition to its commissioning and evolution.
Assume global technical responsibility and act as the technical authority for the MAGEC program, from mission and system definition to the development, deployment, commissioning, and evolution of the constellation.
Define and maintain the global technical vision, architecture, and technological roadmap for MAGEC, ensuring its alignment with business objectives, service requirements, sovereignty, resilience, security, and program constraints.
Lead the definition and consolidation of the integral MAGEC system architecture, which encompasses the constellation, satellites, payload, platform, ground segment, user terminals, launch services, and interfaces with external networks.
Guarantee coherent allocation and traceability of requirements across all system segments, and maintain the global technical baseline throughout the program lifecycle.
Provide technical leadership for the MAGEC Demonstration Mission, ensuring that its architecture, requirements, and verification approach are representative of the operational MAGEC constellation and can be scaled to meet its needs.
Preside over or lead the main technical reviews and technical decision-making processes, including system requirements, preliminary design, critical design, and acceptance reviews.
Lead the main system-level alternative analyses, including constellation architecture, payload capabilities, satellite platform, spectrum, ground infrastructure, user terminals, launch strategy, interoperability, performance, costs, timelines, and risks.
Define the technological strategy for in-house development or external acquisition and provide technical leadership in the selection and management of strategic suppliers and industrial partners.
Lead the technical preparation and evaluation of requests for proposals (RFPs) for satellites, payloads, platforms, ground systems, terminals, and launch services, and support technical and contractual negotiations.
Guarantee technical coherence between internal engineering teams, industrial partners, and suppliers, resolving interfaces between segments, technical conflicts, and design inconsistencies.
Establish and supervise system performance budgets, the verification and validation strategy, the qualification approach, and integral acceptance criteria.
Identify critical technologies, dependencies, and technical risks, and define the corresponding roadmaps for their development, qualification, and mitigation.
Ensure that the MAGEC architecture allows for interoperability with governmental, commercial, and institutional infrastructures, and maintains compatibility with relevant European and international standards.
Support the definition of the operational architecture and the transition from development to constellation operations, including commissioning, service validation, configuration management, and system evolution.
Advise the CEO and company management on technological strategy, program viability, investment priorities, industrial alliances, and major technical risks.
Represent CanarySat and MAGEC at a senior technical level before clients, institutional interlocutors, partners, suppliers, and relevant European and international organizations.
Location: Madrid, with periodic presence at CanarySat facilities and availability to travel within Spain and abroad, mainly within Europe.
Availability to support, when necessary, critical program reviews, supplier activities, integration campaigns, launch, and commissioning.
The position is located at our headquarters of ARQUIMEA in Madrid, at Calle Serrano Galvache, 56.
We are looking for curious, tenacious and collaborative people, eager to take on challenges and contribute to improving the society we live in.
