What we're looking for
- Full-Stack Engineering: Proficiency with a modern frontend framework (e.g., React) and a backend language (e.g., TypeScript/Node.js or Python); RESTful API design and integration.
- AWS and IaC: Hands-on experience with AWS CDK and core AWS services (IAM, Lambda, ECS/Fargate or EKS, S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, RDS/DynamoDB).
- CI/CD: Strong experience building GitHub Actions workflows, reusable actions, and multi-environment promotion with approvals and rollback.
- Testing and BDD: Practical experience with Cucumber (Gherkin), Playwright for E2E/UI, and contract testing; tests treated as first-class artifacts.
- GxP Understanding: Working knowledge of GxP expectations (traceability, validation, documented changes) and producing audit-ready evidence through pipelines.
- MCP Experience: Experience designing and integrating systems using MCP (Model Context Protocol) patterns for tool orchestration and automation.
- Jira Discipline: Demonstrated use of Jira for backlog hygiene, sprint planning, and reporting with clear acceptance criteria.
- Communication: Clear written and spoken English; ability to explain complex topics simply and drive consensus.
Nice to have
- Performance/Observability: Experience with k6/Gatling/JMeter, profiling, and instrumentation; dashboards and alerts in Grafana.
- Security and Compliance: Familiarity with secrets management, SAST/DAST/SCA, SBOM generation, and policy-as-code guardrails.
- Developer Experience: Contributions to templates, golden paths, internal portals, and standards; experience facilitating feedback forums and office hours.
If you are ready to build the platforms and pipelines that move science into the real world, apply today and show us how you will raise the bar on quality, speed, and compliance!
The role
Are you ready to engineer secure, reliable products that help get life-changing medicines to patients faster? Join us to build modern, cloud-native platforms that turn complex data into practical tools for scientists, clinicians, and operations teams.
You will be a technical leader who ships high-quality software and the pipelines that prove it. Working across the stack and the cloud, you will shape how teams design, test, deploy and observe systems that matter. How would you use your craft to shorten time-to-value while strengthening trust, compliance, and resilience?
What you'll do
- Product Engineering: Design, build, and operate full-stack web applications and RESTful APIs using React and TypeScript/Node.js or Python; make pragmatic architectural choices that improve maintainability, performance, and developer flow.
- Cloud Architecture and IaC: Own infrastructure definitions in AWS CDK; design secure, scalable, multi-account/multi-region environments leveraging IAM, Lambda, ECS/Fargate or EKS, S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, and RDS/DynamoDB.
- CI/CD Excellence: Create robust GitHub Actions workflows with reusable actions, environment promotions, approvals, canary strategies, and automated rollback to deliver stable, predictable releases.
- Quality Engineering and BDD: Lead with tests as first-class artifacts; implement Cucumber (Gherkin) for BDD, Playwright for E2E/UI, and contract testing to drive clarity, coverage, and confidence across services.
- GxP by Design: Embed traceability, validation, and documented changes into pipelines; generate audit-ready evidence automatically while maintaining delivery speed.
- MCP-enabled Tool Orchestration: Design and integrate systems using Model Context Protocol patterns to orchestrate tools and automation safely and transparently.
- Observability and SLOs: Instrument services, define actionable SLOs, and build Grafana dashboards and alerts; reduce incidents and MTTR through runbooks and continuous learning.
- Security and Compliance: Integrate secrets management, SAST/DAST/SCA, SBOM generation, and policy-as-code guardrails to protect data and maintain trust.
- Delivery Discipline: Maintain a healthy backlog and predictable sprints with clear acceptance criteria and transparent reporting in Jira; drive alignment and momentum across stakeholders.
- Standards and Community: Contribute templates, golden paths, and internal portals; facilitate feedback forums and office hours; evolve SOPs and standards with measurable organization-wide adoption.
- Continuous Improvement with AI and Digital Tools: Embrace and appropriately use AI-enabled practices to improve engineering outcomes, decision-making, and ways of working.
