About the role

At LINQ we are looking to bring on board an electrical hardware engineer and PLC programmer to develop the control system for our advanced inspection equipment.

We are thinking of someone with experience in PLC programming in industrial environments and solid knowledge of Siemens programming (STEP 7 and TIA Portal), HMI development, and associated electrical hardware. In addition to programming and commissioning the equipment, you will take part in defining, coordinating, and validating the electrical design according to each client's requirements.

YOUR MISSION

Your mission will be to define, coordinate, and validate the electrical hardware of our inspection equipment, as well as to develop its PLC-based control system, which is responsible for:

What you'll do

· Controlling the complete operating sequence, from part entry to the inspection result

· Managing the sensors, actuators, and I/O signals of the equipment

· Communicating and integrating with the electronics and measurement systems that perform the inspection

· Communicating and integrating with the automatic part loading/unloading systems in the plant (gantry, robot, etc.)

· Presenting the operator interface (HMI)

Within the engineering team, your job will be to ensure that the system is reliable, repeatable, and maintainable, ready to work in demanding industrial production environments.

You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with the electrical and electronic design requirements established by each client.

IN YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

· You will analyze client specifications (SW and HW)

· You will manage the subcontracting of electrical schematic design and electrical installation

· You will review the final documentation and prepare the documentation packages to be submitted to the client during the design and final acceptance phase

· You will program the PLCs of our equipment (Siemens, Step7, and TIA Portal)

· You will develop and maintain the standard PLC programming

· You will develop the HMI operator screens (WinCC, HMI PRO)

· You will take part in integrating the control with the measurement system: sensors, electronics, and acquisition systems

· You will carry out commissioning and validations at our clients' production plants, including international projects with occasional travel

What we're looking for

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

We are thinking of someone who meets the following:

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering

· At least 3 years of experience in PLC programming in industrial environments

· Experience in industrial communications and fieldbuses (Profinet, Profibus, EtherCAT, etc.)

· Knowledge and experience in Siemens PLC programming (STEP7 and TIA Portal) and in HMI development (WinCC, HMI PRO)

· Ability to design, interpret, and update electrical schematics following the guidelines set by client specifications

· High level of English, essential for working in an international industrial environment

· Ability to communicate comfortably with the internal team and, on occasion, with the client

· Availability to travel for occasional 2–3 week stays abroad

Nice to have

We will also value experience in any of the following:

· Programming of other PLC brands (Allen Bradley, Omron, Fanuc…)

· Turnkey projects for OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers in the automotive sector

· CNC programming

· A second language (French or German)

WHAT ELSE WILL WE VALUE?

· Autonomy to learn and make decisions without needing everything done for you

· Ability to work under pressure in demanding contexts

· Professional ambition. If you grow, LINQ grows

· Real commitment to the project. At LINQ this is non-negotiable

Education & certifications

· A master's degree will be valued (in Electronic Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Electrical Engineering)

What you'll get

AND WHAT DO WE OFFER YOU AT LINQ?

You will join a growing technology-based industrial SME with its own product and top-tier industrial clients.

Today we are a team of 21 people in a scaling phase.

We offer a demanding environment, but also an honest and transparent one. A place where you will see the direct result of your work and will have room to grow.

Specifically:

· Permanent contract from the start.

· Compensation in line with the experience you bring. We will communicate it to you in the first meeting.

· 38 vacation days per year (excluding public holidays), 13 of which are at your free choice.

· Modern facilities, well located in Astigarraga.

· On-site work with flexible hours and a real possibility of remote work if you need it for personal reasons, as long as tasks allow it.

· Real autonomy to organize your work, focused on results rather than hours.

· Direct communication with management and active participation in the company's strategic decisions.

· A close-knit, committed team with a very good working atmosphere.

About the company & team

ABOUT US

At LINQ we develop turnkey equipment to help industrial corporations optimize quality control for metal parts. Our systems work inline and at production cadence, making it possible to inspect every part quickly, consistently, and traceably.

We work with two complementary technologies:

Electromagnetic inspection. Many plants still validate critical processes, such as heat treatment, through destructive testing: they remove a part from the line, cut it, and analyze it. Our machines measure its electromagnetic properties and estimate whether it meets the required mechanical properties, without destroying it, in seconds and without stopping production.

Machine vision. In many plants, surface defects—such as marks, scratches, or other imperfections—are still detected through human visual inspection at the end of the line. Our systems identify them automatically, consistently, and traceably, part by part and within the production cycle time.

In both lines, the PLC is a critical part of the equipment: it governs the machine, coordinates the different systems, and executes the complete inspection sequence.
