About the role

Would you like to lead the People strategy of an organisation that works every day to improve people's wellbeing and quality of life?

At Askora we understand food and care as tools capable of generating wellbeing, creating bonds and positively transforming the environments in which we are present.

We are a company specialised in healthy food and in care and assistance services focused on people. Our teams support different communities on a daily basis in educational centres, care homes for the elderly and companies in the Basque Country and Navarre.

We design and manage our services from a perspective that goes far beyond food. We are committed to a close and responsible model that places people at the centre, drives meaningful innovation and seeks to generate a positive impact through trusting relationships and experiences that improve people's lives.

We believe that the care we offer in our services must begin within the organisation itself. Therefore, to support our growth and continue evolving in the way we care for, develop and manage people, we are looking to bring on board a:

People and Labour Relations Manager

What will your mission be?

You will lead Askora's People strategy and management in a comprehensive way, supporting the company's growth and helping to build an organisation that is increasingly cohesive, efficient, close-knit and ready to face its future challenges.

You will lead the area's team and manage a diverse and dynamic employment landscape, marked by geographical dispersion, a variety of professional groups and the coexistence of different employment frameworks.

This is a position that combines strategic vision, technical rigour and closeness to the day-to-day reality of the teams. In addition to ensuring solid and secure labour management, you will have the opportunity to drive policies, processes and tools that improve the experience, wellbeing, commitment and development of the people who are part of Askora.

Your challenge will be to ensure that our values are also reflected in the way we organise ourselves, lead, communicate and care for our teams.

What you'll do

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • You will design and roll out the People strategy and plan, ensuring its alignment with Askora's purpose, values and objectives.

  • You will be part of the management team and actively participate in organisational and strategic decisions, incorporating the People perspective.

  • You will act as a reference and support figure for Management, the different areas of the organisation and the people responsible for the centres.

  • You will lead, coordinate and develop the Payroll Administration, Human Resources and Occupational Risk Prevention team.

  • You will ensure rigorous, close and consistent people management across the different workplaces, taking into account their geographical dispersion and the diversity of situations and applicable collective agreements.

  • You will manage labour relations and dialogue with the legal representatives of the workers, promoting relationships based on trust, respect and dialogue.

  • You will take part in negotiations and manage complex employment situations, including reorganisation, subcontracting or organisational change processes.

  • You will review and improve recruitment, payroll administration, salary, working time control and document management procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, security and efficiency.

  • You will drive the improvement and digitalisation of the area's processes, seeking more agile, reliable and accessible management for people and the teams in charge.

  • You will design and implement appraisal and development models that make it possible to align objectives, recognise each person's contribution and support their professional growth.

  • You will promote learning plans adapted to the organisation's needs and to the diversity of professional groups that are part of Askora.

  • You will analyse and improve people's experience throughout all stages of their relationship with the company: onboarding, support, development, recognition, retention and offboarding.

  • You will design wellbeing, equality, diversity, inclusion and work-life balance initiatives connected to the reality of the organisation and its teams.

  • You will define indicators and dashboards that make it possible to anticipate needs, measure results and facilitate data-driven decision-making.

  • You will help strengthen a leadership culture that is close, participatory, responsible and focused on caring for people.

  • You will promote clear and coherent internal communication that helps connect people with Askora's project, purpose and challenges.

What we're looking for

You will fit this position if…

  • You hold a university degree in Labour Relations, Law, Psychology, Business Administration and Management or an equivalent qualification.

  • You bring a solid track record in generalist Human Resources positions, with responsibility across different areas of the field.

  • You have experience leading teams and enjoy fostering their autonomy, coordination, learning and responsiveness.

  • You have solid knowledge of labour legislation, collective bargaining and labour relations.

  • You have worked with legal representatives of workers and have experience managing employment situations of some complexity.

  • You are used to working with different collective agreements and, preferably, with large, decentralised workforces or those distributed across numerous centres.

  • You understand that a good People strategy must be applicable, close to operations and useful for those who manage teams on a day-to-day basis.

  • You are able to combine future vision with execution capability and a willingness to intervene directly when the situation requires it.

  • You know how to listen, analyse the organisation's needs and turn them into concrete policies, processes and actions.

  • You have negotiation skills, judgement, rigour and composure to handle sensitive conversations and decisions.

  • You work with autonomy, responsibility and a results-oriented approach, without losing closeness and care in relationships.

  • You identify with a project committed to wellbeing, equality, sustainability, innovation and a positive impact on the environment.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Basque will be valued, given the geographical area in which Askora carries out a large part of its activity.

What you'll get

What will you find at Askora?

  • The opportunity to join a consolidated organisation with a clear social purpose and its own way of understanding food, care and relationships with people.

  • A strategic position with a direct impact on the professional experience of the people who are part of Askora.

  • Active participation in the management team and in the company's main organisational decisions.

  • A specialised team to lead, support and continue developing.

  • A professional challenge of great variety and complexity, due to the diversity of groups, centres, territories and employment frameworks.

  • The real possibility of designing and implementing new policies and People management models, leaving a visible mark on Askora's culture and evolution.

  • An environment where you can combine the rigour of labour management with projects linked to leadership, development, equality, wellbeing and people's experience.

  • The opportunity to be part of a project committed to sustainability, the local environment, useful innovation and relationships based on closeness and trust.

  • A stable professional project with room for growth and a long-term vision.
