The position reports to the Commercial Risk Head, within the Wholesale & Sustainability Risk unit of Global Risk Management.

Commercial Risk's mission is to transform the risk management model of the Commercial/Enterprise segment to enable its profitable growth, evolving towards a more proactive, agile, automated, scalable, and client-oriented management approach. The function drives, together with the Risk and Business teams in the countries, the end-to-end transformation of the credit model, simplifying and differentiating processes based on risk and complexity, anticipating client financing needs, and leveraging data, models, and technology to progressively increase automation and management capacity. The goal is to combine a better client experience and greater growth capacity with sound risk management, ensuring that the transformation generates measurable impact on business, efficiency, and risk.

What you'll do

Lead the end-to-end transformation of credit processes for the Commercial/Enterprise segment, from diagnosing and mapping the current process (AS-IS) to designing and implementing the target model (TO-BE), identifying opportunities for simplification, automation, and improvement.

The position will be responsible for translating process designs into concrete, executable action plans, coordinating transversally across Risk, Business, Data, Models, Engineering, and countries, and ensuring that implemented initiatives generate observable improvements in KPIs related to agility, efficiency, adoption, client experience, and profitable growth, while maintaining adequate risk management.

There is also an important distinction: we are not looking for a Project Manager to track a transformation plan. We are looking for someone capable of taking a credit process, mapping it, understanding it, challenging it, redesigning it, converting the TO-BE into actionable steps, and ultimately demonstrating through KPIs that the new process works better than the previous one. That, in my view, should be the differentiating DNA of this position.

  • Analyze, design, and map end-to-end Commercial Risk processes, documenting in a structured manner the current state (AS-IS), identifying activities, decisions, roles, systems, data, models, controls, timelines, dependencies, and key friction points.
  • Design target processes (TO-BE) by applying principles of simplification, standardization, automation, and client orientation, differentiating workflows and intervention levels based on the complexity and characteristics of the operations.
  • Identify and prioritize concrete transformation opportunities, challenging existing activities and controls, eliminating low-value tasks, and determining which decisions or activities can be simplified, automated, or managed through models and tools.
  • Translate process designs into executable action plans, defining initiatives, deliverables, owners, milestones, dependencies, functional requirements, and success criteria needed to evolve from the AS-IS to the TO-BE.
  • Define KPIs to measure the impact of transformations, establishing a clear link between process changes and outcomes in terms of response times, productivity, automation, adoption, client experience, commercial activity, and profitable growth.
  • Lead strategic Commercial Risk transformation initiatives, including differentiated and agile admission processes, Fast Track/PF Lite, automatic renewals, pre-approved credits/Financial Programs, proactive management, and evolution of the Midsize operating model.
  • Coordinate the implementation of target processes across different countries, considering their varying starting points, operating models, and capabilities, while maintaining the common principles of the global model and managing local adaptations as needed.
  • Act as the functional liaison between Risk, Commercial, and specialist teams - Data, Models, Engineering, and Technology-, translating process needs into concrete functional requirements and ensuring that developed solutions meet transformation objectives.
  • Establish mechanisms to monitor execution and adoption, identifying deviations from objectives, dependencies, and roadblocks, proposing corrective actions, and escalating necessary decisions.
  • Actively lead and participate in global forums and with country teams, structuring complex problems, facilitating decision-making, generating alignment among stakeholders, and ensuring follow-through on commitments.
  • Identify best practices within countries and other Group areas, assessing their potential for reuse and scalability to accelerate the global Commercial Risk transformation.
  • Drive the industrialization and adoption of new ways of working, ensuring that changes to processes, operating models, and tools are embedded into day-to-day operations and generate sustainable results.

Knowledge

What we're looking for

  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end wholesale credit process, including origination, admission, analysis, decision-making, delegations, formalization, renewal, monitoring, and proactive management.
  • Mastery of process design methodologies and tools, with the ability to map complex processes, identify friction points, and clearly represent flows, activities, decisions, roles, systems, and dependencies.
  • Experience in process redesign and transformation, including AS-IS diagnosis, TO-BE design, simplification, standardization, automation, and industrialization.
  • Ability to translate target processes into concrete actions, defining roadmaps, initiatives, owners, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria.
  • Knowledge of impact measurement methodologies and the definition of process, outcome, and adoption KPIs, enabling objective evaluation of the results of implemented transformations.
  • Knowledge of operating models and the interaction between Risk and Commercial, including organizational structures, roles and responsibilities, governance, SLAs, and delegation frameworks.
  • Functional knowledge of credit process digitalization and automation, with the ability to interact with Data, Models, Engineering, and Technology specialists and translate business/risk needs into functional requirements.
  • Sufficient knowledge of portfolio management and risk/business metrics to understand the impact of process decisions and steer initiatives towards outcomes of profitable growth and adequate risk management.

Education

  • More than 10 years of professional experience, preferably in Risk, process transformation, strategic/operational consulting, or related functions within the financial sector.
  • Relevant experience in wholesale/Commercial credit processes, with practical knowledge of their end-to-end operation.
  • Demonstrable experience leading process transformation projects, from diagnosis and design through to implementation and results measurement.
  • Experience in designing, modeling, and documenting complex processes, with the ability to subsequently convert them into initiatives and execution plans.
  • Experience defining and using KPIs to measure the impact of transformations, going beyond merely tracking project milestone completion.
  • Experience working in matrix organizations and cross-functional projects, coordinating multiple stakeholders without direct hierarchical reporting lines.
  • Experience in international projects or across different geographies, with experience coordinating implementations at varying levels of maturity being particularly valued.
  • Previous experience working jointly with commercial, technology, Data/Analytics, or model development teams is valued.

Education & certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent qualifications. Postgraduate education in Transformation, Processes, Risk, Finance, Business Analytics, or an MBA is valued.
  • Advanced English is essential, with the ability to lead meetings, workshops, and executive presentations in international environments. Minimum C1 level.
