What we're looking for

You will succeed if...

  • University degree in Engineering (Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent).
  • High level of English (C1), both oral and written.
  • 5 years of experience in the railway sector, preferably in approval, certification, signalling, RAMS, or ETCS project management activities.
  • Availability to travel nationally and internationally.

Nice to have

Additionally, we will positively value...

  • Experience in railway approval and certification processes, in both European and international environments, as well as knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks and national requirements.
  • Experience or knowledge in railway signalling systems, especially in ERTMS/ETCS environments.
  • Knowledge of CENELEC standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, and EN 50129) and the CSM-RA methodology.
  • Experience in dealing with assessment bodies (NoBo, DeBo, AsBo) and railway authorities.
  • Knowledge of national requirements and authorization processes in different countries.
  • Basque and German.

At our headquarters in Donostia, we are looking to hire a Certification and Authorization Manager.

Under the Onboard Operations Management, you will be part of high-impact international projects, leading the certification and approval activities for CAF Signalling's onboard solutions. You will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Projects, Tenders, Quality, and Validation teams, participating in key initiatives that contribute to the digital and sustainable transformation of rail transport.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to interact with certification bodies, railway authorities, and European working groups, directly influencing the evolution of industry standards and regulations.

What you'll do

  • Actively participate in European working groups and forums related to the evolution of railway regulations and ERTMS/ETCS systems.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and national requirements in the company's strategic markets, evaluating their impact on products and projects.
  • Lead and coordinate the certification, authorization, and approval activities of CAF Signalling's onboard systems within national and international projects.
  • Define, plan, and ensure all necessary actions to obtain the authorizations required for the commissioning of CCS subsystems.
  • Prepare and manage the technical documentation and evidence necessary for evaluation processes before bodies such as NoBo, DeBo, AsBo, and competent authorities.
  • Act as a technical interlocutor regarding approval with customers, assessment bodies, national authorities, and European entities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and validation teams to ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and specifications applicable to the railway sector.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of certification and approval processes, driving efficiency and the reuse of solutions between projects.
