Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter

• University degree (Engineering or technical fields highly valued).
• Minimum 10 years' experience in insurance, including:
  • At least 5 years in Property underwriting within corporate/business lines.
• Solid technical expertise in property underwriting (deep, hands-on experience required).
• Knowledge of reinsurance and coinsurance is a plus.
• Strong understanding of the Spanish insurance market
• Fluency in English (B2/C1 level, written and spoken).
• Advanced user of IT tools and underwriting systems.

Helvetia Caser está buscando un Suscriptor Senior de Property & Casualty para unirse a nuestro equipo de Property Corporativo.

This is a key position within a specialized, multi-location underwriting team, where you will play a critical role in driving profitable growth, ensuring technical excellence, and acting as a trusted reference for both internal teams and external partners.

This role goes beyond underwriting: you will be a technical leader, business enabler, and key liaison with brokers and commercial teams, contributing to strategic projects while strengthening underwriting discipline and portfolio performance.

• Evaluación de Riesgos y Suscripción

  • Evaluar, valorar y suscribir riesgos complejos de Property (PYME, riesgos industriales y de ingeniería).
  • Tomar decisiones de suscripción sólidas y técnicamente fundamentadas, en línea con la estrategia y el apetito de riesgo de la compañía.

• Gestión de Cartera y Negocio

  • Gestionar y desarrollar una cartera de corredores y clientes, garantizando un crecimiento rentable.
  • Negociar condiciones, primas y cláusulas con corredores y clientes.
  • Monitorear el rendimiento de la cartera y tomar medidas correctivas cuando sea necesario.

• Technical Leadership

  • Act as a go-to expert and technical reference within the team.
  • Support and guide colleagues in complex underwriting decisions.
  • Maintain and enhance underwriting standards and technical excellence.

• Broker & Commercial Interaction

  • Build strong relationships with brokers and intermediaries (e.g., AON, WTW, and others).
  • Provide technical support to the commercial network.
  • Collaborate actively in business development and acquisition initiatives.

• Project & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Contribute to departmental and cross-functional projects.
  • Coordinate with Risk Engineering for inspections and reporting follow-up.
  • Support Claims team with underwriting-related technical expertise.

• Product & Knowledge Development

  • Maintain and update product frameworks and segmentation strategies.
  • Participate in training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
