Job Description

Role Summary

The Senior SuccessFactors Configuration Analyst / Developer is a highly hands-on role responsible for analysing, designing, configuring, testing and implementing changes across SAP SuccessFactors.

The role combines deep SuccessFactors technical and configuration expertise with strong understanding of HR processes, enabling the individual to identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve existing processes, workflows and system functionality.

The successful candidate will be expected to personally undertake configuration and development activities, rather than primarily managing external partners. They will investigate issues, identify root causes, recommend solutions and implement approved changes directly within SuccessFactors.

The role focuses primarily on Employee Central and related modules across a multi-country EMEA landscape, including dependencies between SuccessFactors and S/4HANA. Colliers currently uses Employee Central, Onboarding, Time Off and Performance & Goals Management, with Compensation planned across EMEA.

Reporting to the EMEA HR Systems Manager, the role works closely with Functional Analysts, HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, Solution and Platform Architects, and external partners to deliver changes from discovery through configuration, testing, business acceptance, go-live and support handover.

A key objective of the role is to strengthen internal SuccessFactors capability, continuously improve the platform and reduce unnecessary reliance on external AMS and implementation partners.

Key Responsibilities

Discovery & Business Impact Assessment

  • Work with functional analysts and stakeholders to clarify requirements, review initial impact assessments and consolidate backlog items with new implementation needs.
  • Assess functional, process, data, security and operational impacts across countries, modules and downstream systems.
  • Confirm feasibility, dependencies and SuccessFactors-S/4HANA alignment with the Solution Architect and Integration expert.

Configuration & Implementation

  • Design, configure, test and implement approved enhancements, minor changes and data corrections across Employee Central and related modules.
  • Deliver Employee Central configuration covering foundation objects, organisational structures, position management, employee data, workflows, business rules, MDF objects, event reasons, data models and permissions.
  • Maintain technical specifications, configuration records and reconciliation checks where required.

Process Optimisation & Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve HR processes through SuccessFactors functionality and configuration.
  • Review existing workflows, business rules and system processes and recommend improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, reduce administration and improve data quality.
  • Challenge existing ways of working and determine whether SuccessFactors functionality can provide a better solution.
  • Assess new SuccessFactors functionality and releases and recommend where capabilities can be adopted.
  • Support standardisation of processes and configuration across EMEA while recognising legitimate country-specific requirements.
  • Maintain a pipeline of configuration and optimisation opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement of the SuccessFactors platform.
  • Measure and demonstrate the benefits of system improvements where appropriate.

Delivery, Governance & Release Management

  • Define implementation approaches, effort, dependencies and realistic timelines, agreeing activities with analysts, specialists and partners.
  • Track tasks, milestones, acceptance criteria and progress in Azure DevOps; escalate scope changes, blockers and capacity constraints with impacts and recommended options.
  • Deliver planned and unplanned changes through agreed prioritisation, approval and controlled development, testing, validation and production release.
  • Follow governance, data protection, security, audit and applicable local requirements, involving relevant control owners.
  • Contribute impact assessments, estimates, risks and recommendations to CAB and Design Authority
  • Recommend which changes can be delivered internally and which require external expertise.
  • Review and challenge vendor approaches, estimates and sequencing
  • Identify simpler, faster implementation options while maintaining quality, controls and alignment with internal delivery and the wider technical landscape.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Employee Central certification and strong hands-on SuccessFactors experience, with examples of changes personally designed, configured, tested and deployed.
  • Deep Employee Central knowledge covering foundation objects, employee data, position management, workflows, business rules, MDF objects, event reasons, data models and permissions.
  • Experience delivering multi-country EMEA changes, including country rollouts or legal entity changes.
  • Experience working with AMS/implementation partners and solution, integration and enterprise architects.
  • Ability to translate requirements into functional designs, assess business and cross-module impacts, and recommend implementation approaches.
  • Experience producing realistic estimates and plans covering dependencies, testing, approvals and business readiness.
  • Ability to challenge partner proposals and estimates constructively
  • Experience maintaining delivery records and evidence in Azure DevOps or equivalent tools within formal change governance.
  • Awareness of integrations with ECP, third-party payroll, benefits, expense management, S/4HANA and identity/access platforms.

Desirable

  • Additional certification in Time Management, Onboarding, Compensation or Performance & Goals.
  • Strong Time Off configuration experience covering accruals, calendars, absence types, time accounts, eligibility and workflows.
  • Implementation expertise in at least one additional SuccessFactors module
  • Experience with SuccessFactors Integration Center and/or APIs.
  • Experience supporting SuccessFactors upgrades and assessing new functionality.
