At CONVOTIS Iberia, we are looking to hire a Senior Mainframe Consultant with a global vision of the IBM z/OS environment: someone who knows the platform from infrastructure and operations, but who has also developed in COBOL and worked with databases.
You will join stable projects with major clients in the financial and services sectors, where you will be a technical reference point and act as a liaison between development, systems, and business.
At least 8 years of experience in IBM z/OS Mainframe environments
Experience in production operation and control: TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JES2, and batch schedulers
Demonstrable experience in COBOL development (batch and CICS) and JCL
Solid knowledge of DB2 and SQL
ITIL methodology (incidents, problems, and changes)
Analytical capacity, good communication with the client, and autonomy
IMS DB/DC, MQ, and VSAM
Automation: REXX, System Automation, or OPS/MVS
Modernization tools: Zowe, Git, Endevor, or IBM Developer for z/OS
Professional English
Experience in banking or insurance
Advise on the improvement and automation of Mainframe operations: batch planning, monitoring, and incident management
Analyze, develop, and optimize batch and online (CICS) COBOL programs
Design and review schedules in Control-M, TWS, or CA-7, and validate the JCL of new processes
Work with DB2: SQL queries, performance, LOAD/UNLOAD utilities, and resolution of data access problems (IMS, if known)
Act as a link between development, systems, and business during critical incidents and production deployments
Participate in modernization initiatives: DevOps on Mainframe and cloud integration
Document procedures and mentor junior profiles
