What we're looking for

5-8 years in data architecture, with demonstrated specialization in graph modelling and/or ontology engineering.
Strong proficiency in graph query languages: SPARQL and/or Gremlin / Cypher.
Hands-on experience with at least two graph database platforms across different paradigms (RDF triple store + property graph).
Solid understanding of ontology design principles: class hierarchies, property axioms, inference, modularity.
Experience integrating graph layers with enterprise metadata and governance platforms (Collibra, Informatica, Apache Atlas, Alation or similar).
Cloud data architecture competence on AWS and/or Azure: storage, processing, and orchestration layers.
Ability to translate complex business domain models into formal, reusable ontologies.
Clear and structured communication: able to present technical designs to both engineering teams and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

Experience with domain ontologies across industries: FIBO, CIM, GS1, SNOMED, or similar.
Exposure to GenAI integration patterns where graph structures act as semantic backbone for LLM-based applications.

The role

At CONVOTIS Iberia we are looking for a technical expert in graph data architecture and ontology engineering, capable of designing and delivering semantic data solutions across industries and technology stacks. Works as the lead architect in delivery engagements, owning the technical design from domain modelling through to production deployment. Operates across AWS and Azure environments and across a broad range of graph and semantic tooling.

What you'll do

Design and implement graph data models: property graphs, RDF/OWL ontologies, knowledge graph schemas adapted to diverse business domains.
Lead the semantic integration of heterogeneous enterprise data sources: ERP, CRM, operational systems, data warehouses, data lakes.
Select and implement the right graph technology per use case: Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, Azure Cosmos DB, StarDog, AllegroGraph or others.
Define ontology governance practices: versioning strategies, namespace management, constraint validation with SHACL.
Collaborate with data engineering teams to build ingestion, transformation, and graph loading pipelines.
Advise on semantic layer design for analytics and AI use cases: entity resolution, semantic search, graph-augmented retrieval.
Contribute to pre-sales: participate in architecture workshops, technical proposals, and PoC design.
Document architecture decisions, data models, and semantic mappings with rigor and clarity.
