Senior Site Reliability Engineer (AWS / Terraform)

Stack: AWS (IAM/SSO, VPC, RDS/Aurora, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch), Terraform, CloudFormation/CDK, Cloudflare, MySQL/PostgreSQL, GitHub Actions/CodeBuild, Python/Bash, Linux, Grafana (Prometheus/Loki) and Sentry.

• At least 5 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure

• Terraform with AWS and Cloudflare providers

• Cloudflare: DNS, WAF and custom rules, rate limiting, bot management, and caching

• MySQL/PostgreSQL: tuning, indexing, replication and failover, backup and restore, secure migrations

• CI/CD with GitHub Actions (OIDC to AWS, reusable workflows) and CodeBuild, with secure deployments and rollbacks

• Python/Bash (boto3, API integrations) and Linux troubleshooting

• SSO and SAML 2.0 with an IdP such as Okta or Auth0

• Basic knowledge of data platforms (Athena, S3, Glue)

• Autonomous work with teams in different time zones, with clear tickets and runbooks, and comfort with Jira and agile

• Fluent English, spoken and written

• Daily use of AI code agents (specifications, review, tests, and quality gates)

• Orientation towards end-to-end responsibility

• Motivation to learn the networking domain (wired and wireless protocols) and apply it to customers' network troubleshooting challenges

• Elasticsearch/OpenSearch

• Serverless Framework

• Docker with ECS

• Experience in high-traffic consumer sites

At CONVOTIS Iberia, we are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for a real-time outage monitoring platform. It combines user reports and signals to show when applications, services, and networks fail, and it suffers extreme traffic spikes during major outages. When the internet fails, millions of people look at this platform first, and you will help keep it running. You will work on cloud infrastructure, automation, and operations, and step by step you will modernize and simplify what already exists, leaving the systems a little cleaner every time you touch them.

• Manage infrastructure with Terraform (AWS and Cloudflare providers): remote state, plan/apply in CI, imports, and drift correction

• Maintain CloudFormation and migrate stacks to CDK or Terraform without interruptions (planned work for this role)

• Manage Cloudflare (DNS, WAF and custom rules, rate limiting, bot management, and caching rules) via Terraform

• Optimize and operate MySQL/PostgreSQL: query tuning, indexing, replication and failover, backup and restore, secure migrations

• Maintain CI/CD with GitHub Actions (OIDC to AWS, reusable workflows) and CodeBuild, with secure deployments and rollbacks

• Automate with Python and Bash (boto3, API integrations) and resolve incidents in Linux

• Manage observability: dashboards, low-noise alerts, and SLOs

• Manage incidents and on-call shifts, with triage and postmortems, because traffic spikes arrive without warning

• Convert bot and scanner traffic into WAF or rate limiting rules

• Take care of security (secrets, IAM review, CVE/Dependabot triage) and optimize costs

• Coordinate the on-call rotation, which includes engineers from other teams joining voluntarily

Your working day offers flexibility, so you can adjust your schedule within a certain margin to best suit your needs. If you work extra hours one day or need to leave early for personal reasons, you can make up the time another day without any issues.
