The role
High-complexity national and international EPC and engineering projects in the sectors of power generation, biomass, renewable energies, hydrogen, cogeneration, and other industrial facilities. The selected person will participate in some of the most relevant energy and industrial initiatives in the market, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and international environments.
What you'll do
The selected person will be responsible for leading the contractual management of assigned projects, ensuring the adequate protection of the company's interests through the proactive management of the contracts under their charge.
We are looking for a professional with demonstrable experience leading the contractual strategy of complex projects, including the management of change orders, potential claims, extensions of time (EOT), and other aspects related to the defense of contractual positions and the recovery of costs and time. They must provide a strategic vision oriented toward the prevention and resolution of contractual issues throughout the entire project life cycle.
They will have the following functions, among others:
- Review and analyze main engineering and EPC contracts, as well as subcontracts and associated agreements, ensuring compliance with the contractual obligations of clients, partners, and subcontractors, and promoting the necessary actions for the protection of the company's interests.
- Provide support to project directors in contractual management strategy.
- Advise project teams on the interpretation and application of contracts, evaluating the impact of contractual decisions on project execution.
- Identify, evaluate, and monitor contractual risks, opportunities, and deviations, analyzing their economic, temporal, and commercial impacts and promoting the necessary mitigation measures.
- Participate in the identification, preparation, documentation, and monitoring of change orders, potential claims, and other events with contractual impact, collaborating with the Legal Department in the management of controversies when necessary.
- Draft and manage contractual communications and provide support in the resolution of conflicts with clients, suppliers, and main subcontractors.
- Supervise the management of guarantees, bonds, and insurance required under the main contract.
- Prepare reports, indicators, and monitoring reports on the contractual status of the projects.
- Provide support to the Legal Department in the preparation, management, and resolution of claims and contractual controversies.
- Participate in the management of contract closure.
- Provide support to the commercial team in the review of contractual terms during the bidding phase.
- Collaborate with the department in the improvement and standardization of processes, templates, and tools, implementation of best practices, lessons learned, and development of digitalization initiatives.
