The role
We are selecting a POWER ELECTRONICS SPECIALIST ENGINEER to provide technical support for renewable energy, energy storage, and data center projects, participating in the definition, analysis, and integration of power converters, inverters, rectifiers, STATCOM, UPS systems, BESS, and other electronic equipment associated with power conversion, control, and power quality, acting as the technical reference for this specialty within multidisciplinary teams.
Your main function will be to complement EAG's conventional electrical engineering capabilities, providing specific knowledge in power electronics and collaborating in the definition, integration, and verification of power conversion systems.
What you'll do
Among your main responsibilities will include:
Definition and review of functional and performance requirements for power converters and other power electronics equipment and systems.
Analysis and review of converter topologies, including power semiconductors, protection circuits, switching, and control strategies.
Support for the sizing and specification of transformers for converters, reactors, harmonic filters, reactive power compensation systems, and power electronics equipment associated with battery energy storage systems (BESS), uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, and static compensators (STATCOM).
Performance and/or review of harmonic studies, power quality, electromagnetic transients, and the dynamic behavior of systems with high power electronics penetration.
Analysis of the interaction between converters, the electrical grid, storage systems, and dynamic loads, including the evaluation of the behavior of BESS, UPS, STATCOM, and inverters against rapid load variations, grid disturbances, and electrical system support requirements, especially in renewable energy and data center projects.
Preparation and review of technical specifications, datasheets, requisitions, and manufacturer engineering documentation.
Technical evaluation of bids and technical follow-up of suppliers of converters, inverters, STATCOM, UPS, BESS, and other power electronics equipment.
Coordination with manufacturers and external specialists in highly specialized functions, ensuring the correct integration of power electronics equipment with the global electrical system.
Support for the development of criteria, methodologies, and internal capabilities in power electronics applied to renewable energy, storage, and data center projects.
