About the role

Are you passionate about data design, architecture, and quality operations?

Would you like to play a key role in building the future data platform of a large organization like Grupo Eroski?

At Eroski, we are immersed in an ambitious process of evolving our data architecture, and we are looking to bring on board a Database Architect to help us ensure data quality, consistency, and performance, laying the foundations for the group's Lakehouse model.

What will your mission be?

What you'll do

  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for analytical and operational use cases.
  • Define and evolve modeling standards (relational, dimensional, Data Vault, NoSQL), naming conventions, and best practices.
  • Optimize the structure, performance, and efficiency of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Establish indexing, partitioning, versioning, and storage strategy rules.
  • Ensure data governance, quality, integrity, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluate technologies, approaches, and patterns to evolve legacy models toward modern Lakehouse architectures (Iceberg), as well as other functions inherent to the role.

What you'll get

What do we offer you?

At Eroski, we believe in people and their ability to transform their environment. That is why we offer you much more than a job: we invite you to be part of a shared project, with purpose and future.

  • Contract: As a permanent employee or as a member partner. Our goal is to offer you job stability.
  • Your time matters: You will have flexible working hours, hybrid work two days a week, and a digital disconnection policy.
  • Professional development tailored to you: You will participate in a cross-functional project across Grupo Eroski's systems with subject-matter experts and leading suppliers. Through tools and a training program, you will be able to advance in your professional development. We believe in internal talent, so you will have options to take on new roles in the future.
  • We take care of you: Online doctor, free psychological support, digital physiotherapy platform, annual medical check-up, as well as parking service and a canteen service with homemade, healthy food, also available to take away. Additionally, if you are a member partner, you will also have access to the medical network (Lagunaro) and banking benefits (Laboral Kutxa).
  • Additional benefits: You will enjoy the MasXmenos program, which improves your compensation with tax advantages and the possibility of access to the Basque language plan.
  • An environment where your voice matters: We believe in shared leadership, and we foster collaboration, participation, and collective contribution. We promote an agile, flexible, and inclusive environment, with a firm commitment to equal opportunities, diversity, and inclusion.

Annual gross salary: 42,000-49,000
