A company in the food sector is looking for Handlers to work in Melgar de Fernamental and perform the following tasks:

The main tasks for the care of chicks on farms include temperature control, the provision of water, balanced feed, and daily hygiene of the space.

Preparation of the space and heat

- Heating the floor: Turn on the heating in the shed between 24 and 48 hours before the arrival of the animals so that the floor reaches at least 28 ºC.

- Controlling the temperature: Maintain an ambient temperature of 31 ºC to 34 ºC at the height of the birds during the first weeks.

- Monitoring behavior: If the chicks huddle under the heat source, they are cold; if they move too far away, they are hot.

Feeding and hydration.

- Supplying starter feed: Use special balanced feed for the first weeks and place it in accessible feeders.

- Ensuring clean water: Refill and wash the drinkers daily to prevent the accumulation of bacteria and maintain proper hydration.

Hygiene and sanitary control.

- Bedding management: Use clean absorbent material, such as wood shavings or straw, and remove wet or clumped areas to prevent diseases.

- Daily observation: Check the activity, growth, and general health status of the birds, immediately separating any weak specimens.

- Among other tasks inherent to the job position.

- Asegurar agua limpia: Rellena y lava los bebederos a diario para evitar la acumulación de bacterias y mantener una correcta hidratación.

Higiene y control sanitario.

- Manejo de la cama: Usa material absorbente limpio, como viruta o paja, y retira las zonas húmedas o apelmazadas para prevenir enfermedades.

- Observación diaria: Revisa la actividad, el crecimiento y el estado de salud general de las aves, separando de inmediato a cualquier ejemplar débil.

- Entre otras tareas propias del puesto de trabajo.
