What you'll get

  • A real opportunity to build something from scratch, with a direct impact on the business and on the lives of users.

  • Drive and experience to undertake alongside a Venture Builder.

  • Team and offices in Barcelona, with a hybrid model (3 days in person per week).

The role

At GCO Ventures, the Corporate Venturing entity of GCO (Grupo Catalana Occidente), we are building a new startup to solve a problem that hundreds of thousands of families face every year in Spain: managing an inheritance.

It will be a digital solution that accompanies the process from start to finish and without friction, combining technology, legal and tax specialists, and human support.

We are looking for the person who will be our legal reference for the operation of the service and the product.

You will have real autonomy and responsibility: you will start on the front lines, accompanying the first cases and defining, together with the CEO and Technology, our operational model, to later scale it with a team of specialists. It is the opportunity to create the succession service that combines the rigor of a law firm with the scale of a digital platform.

What you'll do

  • Be the legal reference responsible for the advisory service: assume legal direction of the cases and guarantee the legal and tax rigor of each file.

  • Define the operating model: processes, legal criteria, templates, and AI-supported tools.

  • Direct the process from start to finish and the associated legal and tax decisions, supervising specialists and collaborators.

  • Provide legal and tax support for the specific cases we receive, including day-to-day operations in the initial phase.

  • Build and lead the legal team as the volume of cases grows.

  • Identify and manage the legal, regulatory, and professional liability risks of the service.

  • Provide legal support for the relationship with funeral and insurance partners: agreements, referral protocols, and data protection.

  • Define and monitor quality indicators for files and user experience.

  • Collect learnings from each case to build and keep the service protocols up to date.
