Job Description

Our Company

We are Spain's largest airline and a leader between Europe and Latin America; we belong to the IAG air group and are part of the oneworld alliance. Our goal is to always be the best option for travel for our customers, ensuring they feel that our top priorities are their safety and the quality and experience of their journey. In addition to the airline, we have a complementary business in aircraft maintenance.

At Iberia, we value that our professionals serve as role models for customers, but also within the team. We expect all new joiners to exemplify these behaviors.

Role Mission

Definition, development, and functional improvement of the tools used for planning, scheduling, managing crew members, and their rostering, ensuring robust, consistent, and high-quality support to the various areas.

The role acts as a bridge between business users and IT teams. It combines the analysis of operational needs, definition and prioritization of requirements, project coordination, process optimization, and implementation of new solutions, with a cross-functional view of the Production areas.

The incumbent will oversee the full lifecycle of developments, from identifying the need to production deployment, managing scope, timelines, risks, and quality, while also seeking new models and solutions for scheduling and crew management needs. They will work primarily with Nemo and Merlin, internal crew management tools, as well as DPX, which is focused on reconciling and managing our crew members' preferences. This is a reality where artificial intelligence will be a key tool in daily work.

We are looking for a curious, analytical, and organized person, with an interest in technology and continuous improvement, who is excited to be part of a great team and develop their professional career at one of the leading airlines, Iberia. They will have the opportunity to develop their career by participating in processes and new projects within the Directorate with a high degree of digital transformation, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and acquiring deep knowledge of the functioning of the company's various production areas.

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyze user needs and translate them into functional requirements, business rules, validations, acceptance criteria, and improvements for the Directorate's and Production areas' tools.
  • Participate in the evolution, implementation, and functional maintenance of area applications, primarily Nemo and Merlin, as well as in the development of new applications and solutions within the Crew product, including, when they add value, solutions with artificial intelligence capabilities, ensuring service consistency and quality.
  • Act as a liaison between users (DPT, Crew Training, Operations, and/or Human Resources) and IT teams, ensuring that developed solutions adequately meet operational needs and facilitating clear and effective communication between the various involved areas.
  • Prioritize needs and requirements based on their criticality, operational impact, user value, cost, effort, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate and monitor projects and developments, controlling scope, milestones, budget, risks, and quality, and ensuring compliance with agreed commitments.
  • Define test plans and cases, execute functional validation, detect incidents, and monitor their resolution until production deployment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to reduce manual tasks, minimize errors, and streamline management times.
  • Design and maintain reports and tracking dashboards to control indicators and facilitate decision-making.
  • Explore and evaluate the potential of new technologies, including artificial intelligence and advanced analytics in area processes, participating in the development and implementation of applications that incorporate them, especially for classifying and prioritizing requests, detecting anomalies, automating validations, generating operational documentation, and finding agile alternatives to current processes.
  • Collaborate in the implementation of new tools, participating in functional definition, testing, change management, documentation preparation, and user support.

Education

  • University degree in Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Aeronautics, or another STEM degree with a quantitative and programming foundation.
  • High level of English, preferably C1 or equivalent, with the ability to work with technical documentation and communicate with providers or international teams.

Other Job Requirements

  • Programming: practical knowledge of SQL and/or languages oriented toward automation and data processing. VBA or Power Automate experience is a plus.
  • Analytics and BI experience is a plus: advanced Excel skills and the ability to build models, reports, and dashboards in Power BI.
  • Applied AI knowledge is a plus: understanding of the subject and the ability to identify realistic use cases for generative AI or machine learning, with attention to data quality, traceability, security, and maintainability.
  • Ability to learn corporate tools, operational procedures, and regulations applicable to crew members.
  • Autonomy, documentation rigor, end-user orientation, and the ability to test solutions before deployment.
  • Availability and schedule flexibility compatible with critical milestones in the monthly scheduling.
  • Teamwork, clear communication with both technical and non-technical profiles, and the ability to question requirements that do not add value or generate unnecessary complexity.

Talent at Iberia

  • We are one and diverse: we work in a coordinated, open, and collaborative manner in a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • We put soul and passion: we make things happen with involvement and a sense of responsibility.
  • We reinvent tomorrow: we seek new ideas to solve problems and improve processes.
  • We connect with customers and colleagues: we understand the needs of internal customers and care about communication.
  • We keep it simple and efficient: we focus on what is important and eliminate what does not add value.
  • We have safety in our DNA: we apply processes rigorously in every operational decision.

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Iberia, we are committed to offering equal professional opportunities to all people. Selection decisions must be based on the competencies, skills, and knowledge required for the role, ensuring inclusive processes that reflect the diversity of society.
