Nice to have
Previous experience performing roles as Enterprise Architect, Solution Architect, or equivalent responsibility over the technological architecture of an organization will be especially valued.
The role
Maintain and ensure the coherence of IESE's current technological architecture, while defining the institution's new target architecture, incorporating the capabilities offered by current technologies and new development models based on artificial intelligence and low-code. Ensuring that applications, platforms, integrations, and technological services form a coherent, integrated, scalable ecosystem aligned with the needs and strategy of the institution.
The Technology Architect will be responsible for establishing architectural principles and standards, supporting key technological decisions, leading the technical team under their responsibility, and ensuring that the evolution of systems reduces complexity, technical debt, and unnecessary dependencies.
Likewise, they will play a key role in the evolution of the department's value proposition, driving the adoption of artificial intelligence and low-code platforms as levers to increase speed, autonomy, and the capacity to generate solutions both within BIDS and by users from other areas.
They will report directly to the CIO.
What you'll do
Define and maintain the target technological architecture and its evolution roadmap.
Establish technological principles, standards, and patterns for applications, integrations, platforms, and development.
Evaluate key technological decisions and ensure their coherence with the global architecture.
Participate in the technical definition of new projects and solutions from their initial phases.
Ensure correct integration between internal and external applications, platforms, and services.
Identify and propose the elimination of technical debt, redundancies, and obsolete technological components.
Promote simple, modular, maintainable, and scalable architectures.
Define criteria for the selection and incorporation of new technologies and platforms.
Evaluate implications for architecture, integration, security, data, operation, and maintenance in new solutions.
Drive the reuse of existing components, APIs, services, and capabilities.
Lead and develop the technical team under their responsibility, establishing priorities, work standards, and capability evolution.
Lead external development teams in relevant technical decisions and in solving architectural problems.
Maintain a global vision of IESE's application, technology, and integration map.
Ensure the correct documentation of the architecture and its main decisions.
Participate in the technical evaluation of providers and technological solutions.
Lead the progressive adoption of artificial intelligence and low-code platforms as development methods within BIDS, identifying cases where they allow for significant improvements in productivity, speed, and delivery capacity.
Drive and govern platforms that allow users from other areas to develop solutions autonomously or with assistance, within a controlled framework of architecture, security, and governance.
Define standards and guardrails that allow professional development, low-code, and AI-assisted development to be combined safely and sustainably.
Explore new tools and development models that can substantially improve BIDS's value proposition to the organization.
Define and follow indicators related to architectural quality, technical debt, obsolescence, and technological evolution.
Skills
Global vision and capacity for abstraction.
Technical judgment and capacity to make decisions with long-term impact.
Capacity to simplify complex technological environments.
Leadership and development of technical teams.
Practical orientation and capacity to convert architectural principles into concrete decisions.
Capacity to balance technical quality, speed, cost, and business needs.
Capacity for influence and transversal leadership.
Good level of communication with technical profiles, business managers, and management.
