The role

IRB Barcelona is seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to support our cutting edge research in the Chemical Biology and Therapeutics Discovery Research Group led by Dr. Luke Lairson. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing samples, and assisting with chemical biology experiments.

What you'll do

  • Prepare and label samples for analysis.

  • Conduct routine laboratory tests and procedures.

  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.

  • Record and analyze data accurately.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Assist researchers with experiments and projects.

  • Manage laboratory supplies and inventory.

Created in 2005 by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia) and the University of Barcelona, IRB Barcelona, a Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence since the first call in 2011, has received the accreditation four consecutive times.

The institute is devoted to conducting research of excellence in biomedicine and to transferring results to clinical practice, thus improving people's quality of life, while simultaneously promoting the training of outstanding researchers, technology transfer, and public communication of science.
