The role
Description
IRP Systems is developing the next generation of high-performance e-powertrain systems that will change the electric vehicles market. We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Power Electronics Engineer to support our engineering activities in Barcelona.
You'll be responsible for the following
- Support the design and development of high-power electronic systems
- Contribute to schematic reviews, PCB design activities, and power electronics validation
- Perform testing, validation, debugging, and characterization of power electronics hardware
- Contribute to prototype bring-up and system integration activities
- Support the migration of existing electronic design data, libraries, and workflows into Altium, while helping improve PCB design practices and standards
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams during development and testing phases
- Document technical findings and support engineering decision-making
Skills and Qualifications:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Power Electronics, or a related field
- Experience in EV or automotive electronics development
- Strong hands-on background in power electronics design and validation
- Solid understanding of inverter topologies, gate drivers, HV systems, and power semiconductors
- Experience with Altium Designer (PCB layout experience is not mandatory)
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and hardware debugging methodologies
- Experience with simulation tools such as LTspice or equivalent
- Ability to independently drive technical tasks in fast-paced R&D environments
- Fluent English communication skills
