Cybersecurity Internships

These scholarships cover different areas of cybersecurity. We've gathered a set of skills that could fit into any of them. Don't worry if you don't have them all—each scholarship has a different focus:

• Students of a degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, or related qualifications. Pursuing a Master's in Cybersecurity and/or Data & AI will be valued.
• English: B2 level.
• Technical skills we value:
• • Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Development and vulnerability management tools such as Tenable.
  • Basic networking concepts, OSI model, TCP/IP, and protocols.
  • Basic programming and scripting knowledge (Python and Bash)
  • Proficiency with the Office suite (Excel 365, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Interest in cybersecurity, security in development, automation, and AI applied to security.

• Curious mindset, willingness to learn, and teamwork
  You're excited to explore new technologies, ask questions, and discover how to improve every day by collaborating and building solutions with the rest of the team.
• Clear and respectful communication
  You explain your ideas simply, ask for help when you need it, and always contribute from a place of listening and understanding.
• Proactivity and initiative
  You don't always wait for instructions: you seek information, propose alternatives, and are willing to try new ways of doing things.
• Critical thinking and analytical skills

At Mapfre, we want you to find your place in cybersecurity. Depending on the team you join within the Corporate Security Department (CERT, Global SOC, Security Architecture, Ethical Hacking, or Data Protection and AI), you'll learn alongside specialized teams, experience something unique, and take part in some of the following functions:

• You will support the analysis and investigation of cybersecurity alerts in the CERT.
• You will be part of the analysis and processing of security data.
• You will participate in the development of scripts and automation of cybersecurity processes.
• You will collaborate on hardening and reviewing secure configurations.
• You will participate in vulnerability management and the preparation of technical reports.
• You will provide support in reviewing firewall rules and secure communications.
• You will support ethical hacking, cyber intelligence, and asset inventory activities.
• You will learn about integrating security controls in development environments.
• You will be part of the analysis of AI solutions applied to cybersecurity.
• You will participate in privacy, data protection, regulatory compliance, and responsible AI initiatives.

As the final goal of the scholarship, you will have the opportunity to develop a Cyber Challenge with real impact and value for the department.

• Format: On-site.
• Location: Majadahonda/Las Tablas, Madrid
• Duration: Minimum of 6 months, with the possibility of extending the period for 6 more months.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Start Date: October 2026.

During the scholarship, depending on the team you join, you will learn about some of the following technologies, tools, and concepts in real cybersecurity environments:

• Generative AI, Responsible AI, and risk management.
• Cloud and AI in Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS.
• Data governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Automation, scripting, and data analysis for cybersecurity (Python, Bash, and Power Automate).
• Microsoft ecosystem: Copilot, Microsoft 365, Purview, and Copilot Studio.
• DevSecOps and secure development.
• Defensive cybersecurity: EDR, SIEM, and incident response.
• Vulnerability management and security compliance (Tenable).
• Network security, firewalls, and Zero Trust architectures.
• Cyber intelligence and threat analysis.
• Standards and reference frameworks in cybersecurity.
