Policy & Technical Manager

A European-level industry organisation is looking to hire a Policy & Technical Manager to join its growing Secretariat based in Bilbao.This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in shaping and coordinating technical and regulatory work across multiple European countries, within a sector undergoing significant transformation.

• 6+ years of relevant experience in industry, regulatory, or association environments
• Bilbao (flexible model, mostly home-office)

You will act as a key link between international working groups and senior leadership, ensuring alignment, consistency and progress across ongoing regulatory topics.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating international expert working groups and ensuring effective collaboration
• Supporting the development of position papers and technical documentation
• Preparing high-quality materials for engagement with European institutions
• Monitoring regulatory developments impacting the industrial sector
• Ensuring consistency and alignment across different technical discussions
• Supporting the Secretary General in the day-to-day operational management of the federation
• Contributing to the smooth functioning of a small and evolving Secretariat by taking ownership of selected administrative, organisational and operational tasks when needed

European-level industry organisation.

• 6+ years of relevant experience in industry, regulatory, or association environments
• Strong organisational and coordination skills, with a structured mindset
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and evolving environment
• Interest in European regulatory frameworks and industrial policy
• Excellent command of English
• A hands-on and adaptable mindset, with the willingness to contribute beyond the core technical scope of the role
• Ability to work effectively in a small organisation where flexibility, team spirit and operational involvement are essential
• Highly desirable to have the ability to analyse European legislation
• Experience in industrial, energy, or environmental sectors is a plus.
