Requirements

What we're looking for

Experience with pyrotechnic systems, explosives, or related military environments (EOD, munitions, armaments).
Experience in electrical testing (continuity, resistance) and the integration or maintenance of technical systems.
Ability to perform continuity tests using instrumentation, interpret electrical schematics, and strictly follow technical procedures.
Knowledge of pyrotechnic initiation systems, low-current circuits, and critical safety systems.
Strict adherence to safety standards, with certification (or ability to obtain certification) in explosive handling.
Experience working under controlled procedures and audits in high-demand environments.
High operational discipline, effective communication, and the ability to halt work and escalate issues.
Proficiency in English (other languages valued depending on the position).

Nice to have

Experience with space launch vehicles or flight termination systems (FTS).
Military experience in environments related to explosives or weapons systems (EOD, munitions, etc.).
Experience in highly critical technical environments or with high-risk systems.

The role

The Ordnance Technician / Pyrotechnic Technician is responsible for the installation, handling, verification, and maintenance of critical flight pyrotechnic systems, including the Flight Termination System (FTS), on launch vehicles.

This role ensures that all explosive devices and their associated circuits are correctly integrated, verified, and ready for safe launch operations, strictly adhering to established safety standards and procedures.

What you'll do

Install and integrate pyrotechnic hardware on the vehicle, including destructive charges, initiators, Safe & Arm (S&A) devices, and associated cabling and harnesses.
Perform electrical verifications and continuity tests by measuring resistances, validating circuit integrity, and identifying and reporting potential faults.
Execute arming (ARM) and disarming (SAFE) operations of the pyrotechnic system in accordance with established procedures.
Support FTS system preparation activities and contribute to its pre-launch certification.
Collaborate in a coordinated manner with avionics and FTS engineers, launch operations teams, and safety and quality assurance (QA) personnel during the various integration and preparation phases.
Strictly comply with explosive handling procedures.
Document all performed activities, including test results, completed installations, and anomalies detected during operations.
