The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for designing, modeling, and developing mechanical assemblies, structures, and components for industrial machinery. Using advanced CAD tools and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems, they will transform engineering concepts into accurate manufacturing drawings, ensuring manufacturing feasibility and cost optimization.

Main Responsibilities

  • 3D Design and Modeling: Develop three-dimensional models of machinery, mechanical subassemblies, transmission systems, and frames using PTC Creo.
  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM): Manage daily the product structure (BOM/Bill of Materials), versions, approval states, and technical documentation within the PTC Windchill environment.
  • Drafting and Detailing: Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings for fabrication, assembly, and maintenance, applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Component Selection: Define and select standard commercial components (bearings, motors, pneumatic/hydraulic cylinders, linear guides) suitable for each application.
  • Standardization: Collaborate in creating and maintaining the company's common component library to optimize design and procurement processes.
  • Technical Coordination: Work closely with the manufacturing shop floor, procurement team, and automation engineers to resolve assembly issues and optimize Design for Manufacturing (DFM).

Integrated into a complete design team, you will receive support and mentoring to ensure your designs meet market standards and to enhance your growth and maturity as a mechanical designer.

Required Profile

  • Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics. A Higher Level Training Cycle (CFGS) in Mechanical Manufacturing Design or Industrial Mechatronics with relevant experience is also valued.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable experience as a mechanical designer or draftsman in companies within industrial machinery, capital equipment, or automation lines.
  • CAD Tools: Advanced proficiency in PTC Creo (formerly Pro/Engineer) for designing large assemblies, sheet metal, machined parts, etc.
  • PLM Tools: Daily working experience with PTC Windchill.
  • Valued: Knowledge of other CAD/PLM software on the market (such as SolidWorks/PDM, Catia, or Teamcenter) provided the foundation in Creo is solid.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, laser cutting) and industrial metallic/plastic materials.
  • Languages: Technical English (reading catalogs, regulations, and customer specifications).
