From Quirónsalud private hospitals in Madrid, we are looking for a Nursing Assistant for the Sterilization area of our Quirónsalud University Hospital Madrid, located in Pozuelo de Alarcón.

What you'll do

Assist and provide patient care in the surgical area, maintaining constant alertness to their condition in order to contribute to improving their health and well-being in accordance with departmental processes and policies, working in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and other clinicians for patient follow-up and treatment.

  • Respect and maintain an appropriate relationship with patients and families, collaborating in the promotion and maintenance of a professional and responsible environment.
  • Carry out the required administrative procedures for the management of patient admissions/discharges and the corresponding documentation, thereby facilitating the entire healthcare process.
  • Monitor the patient's condition, maintaining a constant state of alertness regarding any changes in their status.
  • Collaborate in patient assistance, reception, and transport, always complying with medical and nursing instructions.
  • Apply cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization techniques for medical-surgical materials according to protocols.
  • Handle and dose the necessary products for cleaning and disinfection, following the established procedure.
  • Receive and distribute instruments for the ward and outpatient clinic according to protocol.
  • Provide proper comprehensive care to patients under your responsibility, taking into account any alterations in their basic needs arising from their health problem, aimed at the successful outcome of the surgical procedure.
  • Check the proper functioning of the surgical equipment in the operating room assigned to you and review all material needed for the surgical procedure at the start of your shift, together with your work team.
  • Attend to the requests of the surgical team that arise during the operation, requesting the sterile and consumable materials needed, anticipating the team's requirements.
  • Ensure the proper management of the stock of materials and medication in your unit, taking into account the forecasting needs for other shifts.
  • Process all necessary medical-administrative documents and enter material expenses and requests for complementary tests into the computer so they can be billed.
  • Ensure the loading and unloading of carts with instruments used in scheduled surgeries.
  • Maintain the furniture, proper lighting, and temperature in optimal comfort conditions for both patients and staff.
  • Ensure the distribution of the different scheduled surgeries by specialty among each assigned operating room.
