Preventive maintenance: Regular inspection of train electrical systems (electric traction, lighting, pantographs, etc.), verification of wiring, connections, electric motors, batteries, and other components, ensuring that everything functions correctly.
Fault repair: Diagnosis and repair of electrical faults, both in trains and in railway infrastructure (electrical substations, signals, safety systems, and telecommunications).
Electric motor maintenance: Inspection and maintenance of traction motors, transformers, and control systems associated with train operation.
Control and safety systems: Verification and maintenance of electrical signaling and railway traffic control systems, such as automatic blocking systems, traffic lights, and level crossings.
Climate control and comfort systems: Repair and maintenance of the electrical systems for air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and other elements that affect passenger comfort.
Substation maintenance: On electrified train lines, technicians may also be responsible for the inspection of electrical substations that supply power to the line.
Installation and upgrading of electrical systems: Participating in the installation or modernization of electrical systems, such as software and hardware updates, to improve energy efficiency or implement new technologies.
