Senior Mechanical Specialist for Power Plants

RDT is looking for candidates for the position of Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer, with at least 15 years of demonstrable experience in this type of equipment in power plants.

The Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer will develop activities to specify, select, and follow up on rotating equipment, ensuring compliance with technical, quality control/quality assurance, and HSE requirements. The candidate must have extensive knowledge of rotating equipment (gas and steam turbines, compressors, pumps, etc.).

• Provide technical support during the bidding phase.
• Review technical bidding documentation.
• Prepare rotating equipment technical documentation for consultation.
• Review and perform a technical evaluation of machinery offers received from suppliers.
• Support leader in defining the cost evaluation for machinery and other equipment related to the machinery department.
• Support the leader in defining engineering requirements and interaction with other disciplines. Optimize engineering standards by ensuring minimum cost and simplification in compliance with the required performance.
• Prepare technical documentation for requisitions (e.g., technical specifications for supplies, mechanical data sheets).
• Support Leader in technical negotiation with suppliers. Review and supervise outsourced disciplinary engineering documents.
• Prepare the technical tabulation and technical evaluation for equipment offers submitted by suppliers.
• Post-award: follow-up engineering activities and interface of equipment/machinery package assigned included in purchase orders.
• Review, mark comments, and finalize all supplier drawings, interacting with other processes or technical disciplines.
• Attend internal review activities and participate in interdisciplinary review meetings.
• Participate and assist technical disciplines to perform engineering activities (e.g., utility and electrical load lists, mock-ups, 3D, routing)
• Provide support for the acceleration and testing of activities.
• Provide support for document management and final certified documentation.
• Support the Discipline Leader in activities with project functions including Procurement and Construction.
• Support leader to define the equipment construction inspection plan and during the preparation of equipment weights and dimensions to support construction activities.
• Developing technological knowledge.
