We are looking to recruit an Electricity System Operator to join the team at the Red Eléctrica Canary Islands Control Centre Department, someone ready to develop all their talent at Red Eléctrica.

What you'll do

1. Analyse and carry out operation work at the electricity control centres.
1.1. Analyse the operation and safety of the electricity system within the scope of the Control Centre.
1.2. Manage work on the Transmission Grid and the commissioning of new facilities, including verifying their proper operation.
1.3. Prepare periodic operation studies and reports.
1.4. Where applicable, carry out remote-control switching operations at the facilities in the assigned operating area.
1.5. Where applicable, monitor peninsular demand and allocate system adjustment services.
1.6. Where applicable, monitor demand and generation scheduling for the Canary Islands or Balearic Islands electricity systems and issue the corresponding real-time operation orders for those systems.
1.7. Where applicable, monitor renewable generation output and issue generation dispatch orders.
1.8. Where applicable, monitor generation scheduling and issue the corresponding real-time operation orders for the Ceuta and Melilla systems.
2. Participate in other activities related to the Operations Directorate.
2.1. Prepare the report on the analysis of constraints to the PBF.
2.2. Complete the IDIO and the Relatorio.

How you'll work

A training contract is offered to obtain professional practice (formerly an internship contract) for 6 months, with the possibility of conversion to a permanent contract upon completion.

During the 6 months, you will follow a programme developed using a theoretical-practical methodology so that you can perform the duties of the operators at Red Eléctrica's control centres. The entire programme will be supervised by a team of professionals from Redeia who will support you throughout.

Requirements

1. Minimum education: university degree in Industrial Engineering (electrical, electronic, electrotechnical, energy).
2. Knowledge of English and/or French is valued.
