Telecommunications Engineering Technician

1. Required qualification: Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent qualification.

2. Professional experience

At least 3 years of experience in similar roles.

Consolidated experience in telecommunications networks, preferably in industrial environments or critical infrastructures.

Experience in mission-critical networks and high-availability services.

Participation in technological evolution projects and cross-functional coordination with different areas and suppliers.

3. Personal skills (soft skills)

Technologist profile: genuine interest in technology, technical curiosity and motivation to learn and delve into new telecommunications solutions.

Design and analysis skills: technical judgment to evaluate alternatives, structure solutions and defend proposals for technological evolution.

Technical rigor and focus on service continuity: orientation towards reliability, robustness and availability in mission-critical environments.

Cross-functional collaboration: ability to work in a coordinated manner with other areas, suppliers and manufacturers in multidisciplinary environments.

Autonomy and clear communication: ability to work independently in complex technical environments and to clearly explain the key aspects of a solution.

Orientation towards evolution and continuous improvement: proactive attitude to identify modernization opportunities and add technical value to the future development of the area.

4. High level of English (B2-C1), especially for technical documentation and communication with manufacturers and/or public presentations abroad.

Availability for cross-functional collaboration and participation in projects with a relevant technical component.

Desirable training: specific certifications or training in IP networks, optical transmission, network synchronization, industrial automation or technologies in the electricity sector.

Certifications in IP technologies and networks (CCNA, CCNP or equivalent) will be valued, as well as training or certification in IEC 61850 and/or PTP.

Experience in transmission, voice, network synchronization, substation environments or technologies associated with the electricity sector will be valued.

Experience in advanced technical support and analysis of solutions with a high technological component will be valued.

We are looking to hire a Telecommunications Engineering Technician to join the Telecommunications Department of Red Eléctrica.

1. Design and evolution of telecommunications networks: participate in the design, review and evolution of corporate and operational telecommunications networks, ensuring their technical coherence, their suitability for mission-critical environments and their alignment with the needs of the electricity system.

2. Development of technological evolution projects: prepare, analyze and present technical projects with a special focus on new telecommunications technologies, including IP networks, optical transmission and other advanced solutions, assessing their technical feasibility, operational impact and integration into the existing network.

3. Expert technical support for critical infrastructures: provide specialized technical support for mission-critical telecommunications networks and systems, including infrastructures deployed in electrical substations, supporting other areas in resolving complex incidents and improving service continuity.

4. Technical specifications and evaluation of solutions: prepare and review technical specifications, design documentation and implementation criteria, as well as participate in the technical evaluation of solutions, offers and proposals from manufacturers or integrators. Cross-functional coordination and relations with third parties: coordinate technical actions with manufacturers, integrators, operators and other internal areas, promoting a cross-functional vision of projects and ensuring an orderly, robust implementation aligned with the department's standards. Promotion of good practices and technological evolution of the area: contribute to the definition of standards, good practices and technical criteria for the Department, providing a technological and proactive vision on modern transmission, voice, synchronization and network evolution solutions, with a continued interest in learning and innovation.

Availability for occasional national and international travel throughout the year.
