We are looking to bring on board a Telecommunications Engineering Technician to join the Telecommunications Department team at Red Eléctrica.

What you'll do

1. Design and evolution of telecommunications networks: participate in the design, review and evolution of corporate and operational telecommunications networks, ensuring their technical coherence, their suitability for mission-critical environments and their alignment with the needs of the electricity system.

2. Development of technology evolution projects: prepare, analyze and present technical projects with a special focus on new telecommunications technologies, including IP networks, optical transmission and other advanced solutions, assessing their technical feasibility, operational impact and integration into the existing network.

3. Expert technical support for critical infrastructure: provide specialized technical support for mission-critical telecommunications networks and systems, including infrastructure deployed at electrical substations, supporting other areas in resolving complex incidents and improving service continuity.

4. Technical specifications and solution evaluation: prepare and review technical specifications, design documentation and implementation criteria, as well as participate in the technical evaluation of solutions, offers and proposals from manufacturers or integrators. Cross-functional coordination and relations with third parties. Coordinate technical actions with manufacturers, integrators, operators and other internal areas, fostering a cross-functional view of projects and ensuring an orderly, robust implementation aligned with departmental standards. Promotion of best practices and technological evolution of the area. Contribute to the definition of the Department's standards, best practices and technical criteria, providing a technological and proactive perspective on modern transmission, voice, synchronization and network evolution solutions, with a continuous interest in learning and innovation.

Requirements

1. Required qualification: Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Desirable training: certifications or specific training in IP networks, optical transmission, network synchronization, industrial automation or electricity sector technologies.

Certifications in IP technologies and networks (CCNA, CCNP or equivalent) will be valued, as well as training or certification in IEC 61850 and/or PTP.

2. Professional experience

At least 3 years of experience in similar roles.

Consolidated experience in telecommunications networks, preferably in industrial environments or critical infrastructure.

Experience in mission-critical networks and high-availability services.

Participation in technology evolution projects and cross-functional coordination with different areas and suppliers.

Experience in transmission, voice, network synchronization, substation environments or technologies associated with the electricity sector will be valued.

Experience in advanced technical support and analysis of solutions with a high technological component will be valued.

3. Personal skills (soft skills)

Technologist profile: genuine interest in technology, technical curiosity and motivation to learn and delve into new telecommunications solutions.

Design and analysis skills: technical judgment to evaluate alternatives, structure solutions and defend technology evolution proposals.
