Job description
Senior Product Manager
Madrid, Spain · AdTech · Publisher Monetisation
Refinery89 is looking for an experienced and execution-focused Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy and development of our core advertising technology platform. This is a highly technical product role working directly alongside engineering, data, and commercial teams to shape the future of publisher monetisation across European markets.
If you are passionate about programmatic advertising infrastructure, enjoy working close to engineering teams, and want to build products that directly impact publisher revenue performance, we would love to hear from you.
Who We're Looking For:
A Product Manager with 5+ years of experience, including at least 3 years within an ad-tech company such as an SSP, DSP, ad network, publisher platform, or CMP.
Someone with deep knowledge of programmatic advertising, including RTB, header bidding (Prebid.js), ad serving, inventory management, and auction mechanics.
A technically confident PM who enjoys working directly with engineers and understands the realities of building and scaling ad-tech infrastructure.
Experience working closely embedded within engineering squads rather than coordinating delivery from a distance.
Comfortable reading and interpreting technical documentation, API schemas, architecture diagrams, and implementation specifications.
A proven track record of writing detailed product requirements and technical specifications for engineering teams.
Someone with a strong product mindset who balances business impact, technical constraints, and publisher outcomes effectively.
A proactive and decisive operator who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys solving complex platform challenges.
Experience within publisher-side monetisation environments is highly valued.
Familiarity with Privacy Sandbox APIs, post-cookie identity frameworks (UID2, RampID, etc.), and evolving privacy-first advertising solutions is a strong plus.
Working knowledge of SQL and experience using data to support product decisions is a plus.
Fluent English is required. Spanish is a strong plus.
Based in Madrid or willing to relocate, with regular in-person collaboration expected at our Madrid HQ.
What You Can Expect from Us:
Immediate start.
Work From Home policy with up to 40 remote working days per year OR Hybrid Model.
Private health care with a top Spanish insurance company.
A great workplace in the center of Madrid (Cuatro Caminos), in our newly refurbished 800m2 offices.
Be part of an experienced team of international professionals and a Dutch workplace culture where transparency, efficiency, ownership, and direct communication are highly valued.
An environment where product, engineering, and commercial teams work closely together and everyone has the freedom to contribute ideas and challenge assumptions.
A challenging and ambitious project at the intersection of programmatic advertising, data, and publisher technology.
And of course, the opportunity to help shape the future of publisher monetisation in a rapidly evolving AdTech landscape.
Ready to help build the next generation of publisher monetisation technology? Apply today and join us in shaping the future of programmatic advertising.
