Requirements
What we're looking for
- Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive Engineering or equivalent with a specialization in Metrology or Dimensional Quality.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in geometrical engineering, metrology, or dimensional quality within the automotive sector; previous experience with high-volume plastic injection parts (bumpers, panels, tailgates) is essential.
- Advanced GD&T (ASME Y14.5 / ISO 1101): Absolute mastery in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing applied to plastic materials (non-rigid parts).
- Stack-up Analysis: Analytical experience in tolerance chains (linear and geometric, 1D/2D/3D), considering the thermal contraction and deformation of plastic.
- Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA): Solid experience in repeatability, reproducibility, and linearity studies of gauges (R&R).
- Software: Proficiency in CAD design/visualization tools (Catia V5 or NX) for the review of complex styling surfaces.
- Fluent English: minimum B2/C2

The role
What you'll do
- Prepare the technical load book (Specs Book / Tooling Specification) for control gauges, adapted to the clamping and support specifications of high-volume plastic parts (bumpers), to initiate the Quotation and Sourcing processes.
- Validate the mechanical concept and the 3D/2D design of the control gauge together with the Gauge Maker, ensuring the vehicle simulation conditions (RPS - Reference Point System).
- Coordinate and ensure the approval of the gauge design with the end customer (OEM) when required.
- Supervise the construction process of the control gauge at the supplier's facilities.
- Audit project progress and manage/correct any technical discrepancies or deviations from the original specifications.
- Perform technical validation at the manufacturer's facilities (initial Buy-off) and final reception at the destination production plants.
- Execute, analyze, and approve Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) studies of the measurement systems.
- Validate and integrate the specific tolerances and tolerance stack-up studies required according to Opmobility standards and regulations for exterior plastics.
