Structural Engineer - Data Center

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or similar, with specialization in structures.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural analysis and design, preferably with specific experience in data center projects, industrial facilities or buildings with high technical requirements.

• Advanced knowledge of applicable national and international structural codes and seismic design criteria when applicable.

• Proficiency in structural analysis and modeling software (e.g., CYPE, Robot, ETABS, SAP2000, MIDAS or others), and advanced experience in CAD/BIM (Revit Structure or equivalent).

• Ability to interpret and coordinate requirements from other technical disciplines (electrical installations, HVAC, anti-vibration insulation, specialized equipment loads).

• High level of technical English. Other languages are valued depending on the project.

• Availability to travel and to work at any of our offices (depending on project needs).

• Previous experience in international projects and work in global multidisciplinary teams.

• Knowledge in design for operational continuity, critical load management and coordination with data center regulatory requirements and certifications.

• Experience in construction optimization, prefabrication and accelerated construction methodologies.

At Sener we provide innovative and sustainable solutions in Infrastructure and Transport. As part of our growth in international data center projects, we are looking for a Structural Engineer - Data Center to join the team to lead structural design and technical coordination throughout all project phases.

The selected person will be responsible for the definition and verification of structural solutions for data center buildings, ensuring integrity, safety and construction optimization, as well as multidisciplinary coordination with architecture, MEP, construction and suppliers. They will work on projects from the bidding phase and feasibility studies through to execution and commissioning.

• Development and calculation of structures (reinforced concrete, steel and composite) applied to data centers, including foundations, floors, frames and special elements.

• Preparation and review of structural models, calculation reports, construction drawings and technical documentation required for bidding and construction.

• Integration and coordination with architecture, MEP (HVAC, power, cooling) and external disciplines to ensure technical and construction compatibility.

• Application of criteria for continuous service, redundancy and specific data center requirements (static and dynamic loads, vibrations, insulation, technical zones, access and maintenance routes).

• Technical management and supervision during construction: response to site queries, quality control monitoring and review of installation instructions.

• Participation in the definition of technical specifications and in the evaluation of supplier and contractor bids.

• Promotion of good design practices, construction efficiency criteria and sustainability applicable to the structural discipline.
