Marine Waste Inspector (MARPOL)

Your mission - Oversee the proper management and disposal of waste generated by ships to ensure compliance with MARPOL regulations, thereby protecting health and the environment and promoting sustainable maritime trade. Are you up for the challenge? 

Your duties within the team:

• You will verify the volumes of MARPOL waste discharged from each vessel, together with a service provider.
• You will coordinate activities with various service providers in the port.
• You will report any incidents found during inspections to the relevant authorities.
• You will complete inspection reports for each vessel served and file them.

Inspection and Field Testing

What do you need to meet?

• You hold a CFGM or CFGS qualification in any specialty. 

• You have an English level of A2. 

• You have a B1 driving license and a vehicle (motorbike/car) to get to your workplace (Port of Barcelona).

• No prior experience is required; at SGS, we will train you so you can perform your duties successfully.

• IMPORTANT: you are available to work flexible, rotating shifts from Monday to Sunday.

Tu misión - Supervisar la correcta gestión y eliminación de los residuos generados por los buques para garantizar el cumplimiento de la normativa MARPOL y así proteger la salud y medio ambiente y velar por un comercio marítimo sostenible. ¿Te unes al desafío? 

Tus funciones en el equipo:

• Verificarás los volúmenes de residuos MARPOL descargados de cada buque, junto con un proveedor de servicios.
• Coordinarás actividades con diversos proveedores de servicios en el puerto.
• Informarás cualquier incidente encontrado durante las inspecciones a las autoridades correspondientes.
• Completarás informes de inspección para cada buque atendido y archivarlos.

Inspection and Field Testing

¿Qué has de cumplir?

• Tienes formación de CFGM o CFGS de cualquier especialidad. 

• Aportas nivel de Inglés A2. 

• Dispones de carné de conducir B1 y vehículo (moto/ coche) para acceder a tu puesto de trabajo (Puerto de Barcelona).

• No requieres de experiencia previa, en SGS te formaremos para que desempeñes tus funciones con éxito.

• IMPORTANTE: cuentas con flexibilidad horaria para turnos rotativo de lunes a domingo.
