The role

Are you an Occupational Risk Prevention professional with experience in industrial environments looking for a stable project, with development and a first-class technical environment?

At SGS, we want to hire a Senior Occupational Risk Prevention Technician to provide technical support in monitoring internal and external activities carried out at the plant.

The selected person will have a regular field presence and will collaborate with area managers, internal staff, contractor companies, and the HSE team to ensure safe working conditions and compliance with applicable preventive procedures.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate and perform preventive monitoring of concurrent business activities in an industrial environment.
  • Review and validate the preventive documentation necessary for access and the execution of work by internal staff and external companies.
  • Check the correct completion and application of ordinary and special work permits, including the identification of risks, preventive measures, preventive resources, and associated documentation.
  • Verify in the field the safety conditions of work with special risks, such as lockout/tagout (LOTO), hot work, working at heights, confined spaces, or other critical activities.
  • Perform periodic preventive tours and inspections in work areas, checking that established measures are applied and maintained throughout the activity.
  • Detect, document, and communicate deviations or risk situations, request their correction and, when a serious or imminent risk exists, promote the safe stoppage of work in accordance with established procedures.
  • Record evidence of the checks performed and prepare daily or periodic reports on supervised work, incidents, deviations, and corrective actions.
  • Follow up on the closure of findings and propose improvements aimed at reducing risks and strengthening the preventive culture.
  • Maintain fluid communication with operational managers, HSE, contractor companies, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the preventive planning of work outside regular hours, weekends, or holidays, guaranteeing adequate prior coordination and communication.
