Protection and Control Electrical Panel Design Engineer

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Industrial Engineering, or similar.
• Solid knowledge of the electrical power system.
• Experience in the design of Protection, Control, Measurement, and Auxiliary Service systems, as well as protection relay functionalities.
• Knowledge of detailed single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, interconnections, bills of materials, manufacturing documentation, and AC/DC Auxiliary Service systems in substations.
• Ability to coordinate and review the work of electrical designers.

• Proficiency in electrical design tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, SEE Electrical, or similar.
• Knowledge of regulations applicable to electrical substations and control panels.
• Experience with protection relays from manufacturers such as Siemens, GE, Schneider, ABB, SEL, Ingeteam, or others.
• Medium/high level of technical English.

Previous experience in one or more of the following areas will be especially valued:

• Experience in electrical panel manufacturing companies.
• Protection and Control systems engineering departments.
• Substation protection and control commissioning departments.
• Electrical substation engineering, construction, or maintenance companies.
• Design of P&C, AC/DC Auxiliary Services, control, measurement, and protection panels.

An industrial sector company is looking to incorporate a protection and control electrical panel design engineer for its substation business unit with demonstrable experience to work at our facilities in Bilbao.

• Liaising with the client for functional definition and scope
• Creation and definition of detailed single-line diagrams for Protection, Control, Measurement, and Auxiliary Services.
• Design of detailed schematics, panel fronts, bills of materials, and interconnection diagrams for the manufacture of P&C and AC/DC Auxiliary Services panels.
• Functional study and definition of wiring diagrams for protection relays, primarily in the field of electrical substations.
• Coordination and supervision of the work of specialist designers in Protection, Control, Measurement, and Auxiliary Services.
• Technical support to the electrical panel manufacturing workshop and Site Managers
• Calculation of AC auxiliary service consumption and DC battery consumption, and cable lists
• Preparation of engineering offers within the Protection and Control discipline.
