About the role

An industrial sector company is looking to bring on board a design engineer for electrical protection and control switchgear for its substation business unit, with demonstrable experience, to work at our facilities in Bilbao.

What you'll do

  • Liaising with the client for functional definition and scope
  • Preparation and definition of developed single-line diagrams for Protection, Control, Metering and Auxiliary Services.
  • Design of developed schematics, switchgear front panels, bill of materials and interconnection diagrams for the manufacture of PCM and AS switchgear.
  • Functional study and definition of wiring diagrams for protection relays, mainly in the field of electrical substations.
  • Coordination and supervision of the work of draftspersons specialised in Protection, Control, Metering and Auxiliary Services.
  • Technical support to the electrical switchgear manufacturing workshop and site managers
  • Calculation of AC auxiliary services consumption and DC battery banks, as well as cable schedules
  • Preparation of engineering bids within the Protection and Control discipline.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in electrical design tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, SEE Electrical or similar.
