What we're looking for

More than 5 years of experience as a mechanical technician (automotive, off-road, agricultural machinery, industrial equipment, or similar).
Ability to read technical drawings and follow structured assembly instructions.
Strong practical skills with tools: torque, measurement, drilling, fasteners, alignment, and general mechanical assembly.
A safety-first mindset and willingness to follow procedures (especially regarding high-power systems).
Proficiency in Spanish; a basic level of English is useful for technical collaboration.
Basic knowledge of electronics (crimping, connectors, harness routing) and multimeter handling.
Forklift license or experience in operating forklifts.
Welding or fabrication capability.
Comfort using issue trackers and simple logging tools to report test results and failures.
High tolerance for travel and comfort working with little structure.
Solid judgment. High standards. Action-oriented.

The role

At Voltrac, our mission is to strengthen food security and Europe's defense with an autonomous electric tractor that frees farmers from the hardest work and keeps soldiers out of harm's way. The 3.5-tonne platform is currently being tested in vineyards, olive groves, and citrus orchards across Spain: visit voltrac.eu to see it in action. We are about to scale manufacturing to 100 units per year and are looking for the right person to help us build it. What you'll do

You will build, maintain, and improve Voltrac's prototypes, and you will become part of the team that will manufacture up to 100 units per year. A varied job, integrated into the existing team on-site, with the following tasks:

Manufacture, assemble, and service the tractor's subsystems.
Support electrical integration tasks: harness routing, working with connectors, and basic continuity checks (with training provided where necessary).
Diagnose problems during workshop and field operations; collaborate with engineers to identify root causes and implement solutions.
Workshop tasks: maintenance of tools, fixtures, consumables, cleaning, and basic inventory control.
Document builds, modifications, and repairs so that the system is maintainable as we scale to low-volume production.
Reading and understanding manufacturing and assembly drawings.
Support field trials and other events.

About the company & team

Voltrac was founded by Francisco Infante Aguirre and Thomas Hubregtsen in 2024. Francisco built hydrogen supersonic planes at Destinus and high-capacity eVTOLs at Volocopter, but comes from a family that manufactures and sells agricultural implements in more than 25 countries. Thomas accelerated machine learning with GPUs, TPUs, and quantum computers at Google X, IBM, and BMW, and also founded Extropic in San Francisco, introducing thermodynamic computers, though his first job was on a farm.

Together, they set out to shake up the market by competing directly with established players and startups. Along the way, they have the support of investors such as Extantia, Foodlabs, Antler, Push, and Prototype, who have collectively committed a total of 9M in funding. With this, they were able to open their facilities in Valencia: a 1200 m² warehouse with 300 m² of office space with natural light and 900 m² of workshop. Valencia is systematically voted as one of the best places to live in Europe due to its low cost of living, its excellent climate, and its vibrant historic center. The team is young, from very diverse backgrounds, and loves having barbecues together, but they share a single goal: transforming agriculture and Europe's defense with machines that do real work.
