The role

We are currently looking to hire an Engineer with experience in bridge and structures design to join our growing Enterprise Capabilities Europe (Madrid) team.

What you'll do

  • Perform structural calculations and modeling using specialized software, applying load combinations according to the various limit states and verifying consistency between models and the results obtained.

  • Prepare technical documentation, including calculation reports, quantity take-offs, and sketches for the production of drawings, performing quality self-checks and participating in technical reviews (peer reviews) to ensure the consistency and quality of deliverables.

  • Participate in conceptual studies and the evaluation of design alternatives (structural typologies, materials, and construction methods), collaborating during preliminary and detailed design phases under technical, economic, and constructability criteria.

  • Coordinate with disciplines such as geotechnical, hydraulic, roadway, utilities, and architectural engineering, proactively identifying and resolving clashes and participating in technical meetings to validate project solutions and constraints.

  • Apply international codes and standards (AASHTO, AREMA, British Standards, Australian codes, among others) and drive digital efficiency through the use of templates, parameterization, and automation of tasks using spreadsheets and basic scripts.

Your role as an Engineer

You will participate in all phases of project development, from conceptual and feasibility studies to preliminary and detailed design, working on a wide variety of bridge and structures projects. You will be part of large multidisciplinary teams serving both public and private clients, including major projects under Design & Build (Design and Construction) delivery models.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering (specializing in Roads, Canals, and Ports) or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, obtained from a recognized university.
  • Experience in bridge and/or structures design (more than 2 years).
  • Fluent level of English, both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards such as AASHTO, AREMA, Australian codes, or British Standards, among others.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software for bridges and structures, preferably MIDAS Civil, although experience with tools such as CSiBridge, SAP2000, or other similar software will also be valued.
  • Previous experience on projects in the United States, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand will be positively valued.
