The Almirall Research team in Barcelona is strengthening its core experimental department and is looking for a talented student with hands-on experience in vivo Pharmacology and/or Immunology gained through their academic studies. The team is enabling the small molecule and biologics pipeline from discovery up to preclinical development, and is co-responsible for delivery of high quality therapeutic drug candidates with a high potential for success in clinical development.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform in vivo studies to answer scientific questions and to characterize MoA and efficacy of compounds including new drug candidates
• Perform a variety of routine laboratory experiments and procedures, using state of the art laboratory equipment, recording and checking results for completeness and accuracy
• Plan and initiate established and new experimental approaches with a high level of independence
• Analyse and interpret experimental results and prepare reports/presentations
• Assist team members in planning and execution of experiments
• Work in a matrixed, fast paced highly collaborative environment with shared responsibilities
• Effectively communicate within and across teams.
• Carry out all laboratory activities in compliance with applicable regulations and protocols.
• Conduct literature searches and reviews, compiling information for journals and suggest uses for new techniques to the team.
• Maintain records of results and methodologies in electronic laboratory notebook.
• Maintain equipment, lab area and supplies in a neat professional manner
• Attend courses, lectures and conferences to further own knowledge on research and laboratory techniques, consulting with other researchers to exchange information.
• Contribute to an enriching, positive and inclusive lab environment.
