The role

AWS is hiring a Digital Sovereignty Specialist Solutions Architect for Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Southern Europe. You will help customers and public sector organizations move workloads to AWS when sovereignty, security, and regulatory requirements decide what can run in the cloud.

Organizations in highly regulated industries and the public sector across Southern Europe are deciding now how to meet their sovereignty requirements. You will be their technical counterpart for the AWS European Sovereign Cloud and for the sovereignty controls available in AWS Regions. You will also build on the work AWS has done with national cybersecurity authorities in the region, such as secure configuration guidance and landing zone templates aligned with national security frameworks.

Specialist Solutions Architects are part of the AWS sales organization. They bring deep domain expertise to customers with complex problems and work closely with account teams, AWS Professional Services, and Partners to help customers get to production.

What you'll do

Key job responsibilities

- Advise customers, partners, and public sector organizations in Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Southern Europe on running workloads with sovereignty requirements on the AWS European Sovereign Cloud and in AWS Regions

- Lead the technical response to RFIs and RFPs that include sovereignty, security, and compliance requirements

- Work with national cybersecurity authorities, together with AWS security assurance and public policy colleagues, on cloud security guidance, secure configuration guides, and landing zone templates

- Deliver briefings, workshops, and architecture reviews for customers and partners, and speak at industry events

- Bring customer requirements to AWS service teams and turn field experience into whitepapers, blogs, and reusable content

A day in the life

Most weeks combine customer and partner meetings, time for focused work, and collaboration with colleagues across EMEA. A typical week might include a working session with a bank's security leaders on their sovereignty requirements, a review of the technical answers in a public sector tender with the account team, and preparation for a workshop with a national cybersecurity authority. You also set aside time to write, whether that is a secure configuration guide, a blog post, or feedback to an AWS service team based on what you hear from customers.

How you'll work

This role is based in Madrid, Lisbon, or Rome. Native or professional proficiency in Spanish and professional proficiency in English are required. Italian and Portuguese are highly valued.
