We are currently recruiting an FPGA Engineer with experience in the space sector to join on a permanent basis one of the technology teams that Between has deployed at one of our main clients, in a hybrid format (3 days in the office + 2 days remote) in Tres Cantos (Madrid).
Mission: you will join an engineering team with hardware, software and mechanical profiles, responsible for the development of test benches and verification systems used to test the control electronics and mechanisms of various equipment. These include antenna pointing systems, robotic docking and anchoring mechanisms, and optical focusing systems, among others.
• University degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• Advanced written and spoken English.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in similar roles and within the space sector.
• Knowledge and proficiency in hardware description languages such as VHDL or Verilog, and familiarity with FPGA development environments (e.g., ModelSim, Vivado), as well as synthesis tools (Synplify, Vivado) and place & route tools (Libero, Vivado).
• Experience in managing and coordinating teams for electronic project development.
• Knowledge of robotics, sensors and actuators/motors.
• Experience with serial communication buses, including RS-232/485/422, USB, SPI, I2C, Modbus, VISA, CAN bus and other similar protocols.
• Experience in process automation and workflow control.
• Performing unit tests, system integration and continuous development (CI/CD).
• Use of version control tools and bug/issue tracking.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, especially Scrum.
• Ability to design digital and analogue hardware, including schematics, testing and prototype bring-up.
• Handling of laboratory instrumentation for circuit verification and validation.
• Development of FPGAs in compliance with safety standards such as DO-254 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations (ECSS, IPC, MIL, among others).
With experience in some of the following tools and environments:
• FPGA development tools: HDL Designer, Xilinx Vivado, Altera Quartus.
• Scripting languages: Python, TCL, Bash.
