The role

GalChimia is a CRO (Contract Research Organization) specializing in chemical synthesis, located in Touro (A Coruña) and with entirely Galician capital. Founded in 2001 as a spin-off of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), its business focuses on R&D, offering specialized, high-value-added services in synthetic organic chemistry for the chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries.

Traditionally, GalChimia has focused on the early stages of the medicinal chemistry value chain, especially on the design and synthesis of libraries, including scaffolds and building blocks, and on the lead optimization phase with the synthesis of intermediates, metabolites, and reference products. Today, GalChimia covers all aspects of chemical synthesis related to preclinical research stages:

Research Chemistry: Design, evaluation, and development of new synthetic routes. Our work spans from the earliest stages of project design.
Process Chemistry: We transfer laboratory results to the pilot plant. Our chemistry team designs and develops economical, reproducible, and scalable synthetic routes to obtain products that meet the strictest regulatory requirements.
Analytical Chemistry: We have a wide variety of analytical techniques available. We provide full support to our teams of chemists and to our clients with: Complete characterization of chemical products, selection and development of analytical methods, and identification of impurities.
