About the role

As a Transaction Liability Underwriter within CFC's award-winning W&I team, you'll focus primarily on the
while also contributing to our wider EMEA underwriting activity. You'll work closely with brokers, lawyers, private equity sponsors and corporate clients to deliver bespoke insurance solutions that support M&A transactions across a range of sectors and deal sizes.
This is a highly commercial, client-facing role that offers real variety, autonomy and exposure to complex, high-profile transactions.
What you'll do
Our TL Underwriters deliver an exceptional level of service within the fast-paced context of live M&A transactions.
As a new member of our highly succesful TL practice your responsibilities will include:
- Underwriting Warranty & Indemnity insurance for M&A transactions across EMEA, with a predominant focus on France.
- Reviewing transaction documentation including SPAs, disclosure letters, tax deeds and due diligence reports, with particular attention to French law and market practice.
- Actively developing broker and client relationships, including regular engagement with legal advisers, private equity sponsors and corporates.
- Supporting business development activity, including travel to target markets and participation in networking opportunities.
- Contributing to thought leadership, research and the development of best practice within the Transaction Liability team.
You'll be a fluent French and English speaker
with experience in W&I underwriting or a background as a qualified lawyer, M&A professional or accountant with exposure to transactional work, and a desire to build long-term expertise within the W&I market.
Given your professional background, we expect you'll:
- A strong understanding of M&A documentation and deal dynamics, particularly within the French market.
- Strong relationship management skills, with confidence engaging with senior external stakeholders.
