Property Underwriter Global Corporate & Commercial (m/f)

The person will perform the role of Property Underwriter at Generali Spain for the business unit Global Corporate & Commercial, the Generali Group unit that provides P&C insurance coverage to medium and large companies, as well as international businesses. The unit operates globally and through an integrated Group approach with a central management team and specialized teams active in the different countries.

Within the GC&C unit, the person will be able to generate value by implementing and achieving the growth objectives of the strategic plan in Property Underwriting in Spain, based on the analysis of Property risks, using technical knowledge of the area and following the guidelines of the area's underwriting guides.

The main responsibilities will be:

Underwriting

• Focus on new business in accordance with the processes defined by the company, driving the growth of the area.

• Manage the portfolio, focusing on complex renewals, always based on achieving good profitability for the area.

• Ensure compliance with reinsurance rules and their reporting and acceptance levels.

• Work with the Risk & Loss Prevention function in risk analysis.

• Comply with processes and controls according to the underwriting level and delegated responsibility. 

• Work in accordance with the legal/regulatory framework of the guidelines set by the group.

Product development

• Proactively participate in the development of new products within the Property line, to find solutions based on our "Life time partner" philosophy.

• Actively collaborate in keeping the line with an insurance solution that meets the needs of our clients.

Product sales

• Maintain an active commercial relationship with brokers to boost the growth of the line and increase its visibility.

• Actively represent the line at conferences, events, etc.

• Pipeline management to achieve the generation of the plan.

• Relevant experience in Property Underwriting for large companies.

• Fluent Spanish and English, both written and spoken.

• Communication and commercial skills.

• Customer- and business-focused vision.

• Advanced use of the Microsoft Office package: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

• Proactivity and a collaborative team approach.

• Ability to communicate clearly and convey technical information in an understandable way to the different stakeholders of the business at both national and international level.

La persona desarrollará las funciones de Property Underwriter en Generali España para la business unit Global Corporate & Commercial, la unidad del Grupo Generali que da cobertura de seguros de P&C a empresas medianas y grandes, así como a negocios internacionales. La unidad actúa a nivel global y a través de un enfoque integrado a nivel del Grupo con un equipo de gestión central y equipos especializados activos en los diferentes países.

Dentro de la unidad de GC&C la persona podrá generar valor implementando y alcanzando los objetivos de crecimiento del plan estratégico en Property Underwriting en España, según el análisis de riesgos de Property en base a unos conocimientos técnicos del área y bajo las directrices de las guías de suscripción del área.

Las principales funciones serán:

Suscripción

• Focalizarse en el nuevo negocio acorde a los procesos definidos por la compañía, impulsando el crecimiento del área.

• Gestionar la cartera, centrándose en las renovaciones complejas siempre basadas en alcanzar una buena rentabilidad de área.

• Asegurar el cumplimiento de la norma de reaseguro y su nivel de reporte y aceptación

• Trabajar con la función de Risk & Loss Prevention en el análisis del riesgo.

• Cumplir con los procesos y controles según el nivel de suscripción y la responsabilidad delegada. 

• Trabajar en base a los bajo el ámbito jurídico/legal de las directrices marcadas por el grupo.

Desarrollo de producto

• Participar de forma proactiva en el desarrollo de nuevos productos dentro de la línea de Property, para buscar soluciones en base a nuestra filosofía “Life time partner”.

• Colaborar activamente en mantener la línea con una solución aseguradora acorde a las necesidades de nuestros clientes.

Venta del producto

• Activa relación comercial con los brokers para potenciar el crecimiento de la línea e incrementar la visibilidad de esta.

• Activa representación de la línea en jornadas, eventos etc.

• Pipeline management para la consecución de la generación del plan.
