The Role

We are seeking an ambitious, commercial-minded Sponsorship Business Development Intern to join our team in Madrid for a 6-month placement. In this role, you will be given full autonomy alongside hands-on mentorship to drive real business development across targeted global regions.

You will dive deep into commercial deal-making, market research, presentation crafting, client briefs, and regional outreach for high-profile initiatives.

Responsibilities & Duties

1. Commercial & Regional Business Development

  • Take ownership and exercise in driving business development efforts across designated international regions.

  • Conduct in-depth market research, market analysis, and lead generation to identify prospective brand sponsors and partners.

  • Maintain accurate tracking reports, pipeline updates, and market intelligence reports.

2. Pitching, Presentations & Client Briefs

  • Craft compelling, high-quality client presentations and tailored commercial proposals for brand decision-makers.

  • Analyze incoming clients' briefs to translate brand objectives into actionable sponsorship assets and opportunities.

  • Support commercial strategy and activation initiatives for core projects.

3. Account & Pipeline Support

  • Collaborate with senior commercial leads to manage the end-to-end sales lifecycle, from initial outreach to brief evaluation and proposal delivery.

  • Prepare briefing materials and competitive landscape reports for regional client meetings.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Education: Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, International Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Commercial Mindset: Strongly driven by sales, lead generation, and commercial strategy within the sports industry.

  • Availability: Full-time commitment of 40 hours/week (Monday - Friday). Candidates must have the flexibility to accommodate full-time working hours alongside any academic requirements or through an eligible university agreement (convenio de prácticas).

  • Autonomy & Proactivity: High degree of initiative, able to own projects independently while seeking guidance when needed.

  • Technical & Analytic Skills: High proficiency in building impactful presentation decks (PowerPoint/Google Slides), analyzing data, and synthesizing client briefs.

  • Language Skills: Professional working proficiency in English. Additional languages-specifically Chinese, Korean, or French-are a strong plus.

  • Eligibility: Must be based in/around Madrid (or willing to relocate) and eligible for a 6-month internship agreement (convenio de prácticas) if required by university regulations.
