Requirements

What we're looking for

Degree in Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in electrical substation engineering (control and protection systems).
Knowledge of EPLAN and AutoCAD.
Knowledge of auxiliary services (AC/DC) calculation, consumption, cable routing, etc. General energy projects. Software: CANECO, EPLAN, etc.
Ability to independently carry out basic and detailed engineering, as well as interconnections.

Nice to have

Valuable: Experience in field work, such as factory testing or commissioning.

The role

We are looking for an Electrical Substation Engineer to participate in the design, implementation, and commissioning of protection and control solutions in low, medium, and high voltage substations.

What you'll do

Design and develop protection schemes for substation equipment (transformers, lines, busbars, capacitor banks, etc.).
Prepare drawings and diagrams (single-line, three-line, control logic, wiring and connection diagrams).
Prepare technical specifications for protection, control, and communications equipment.
Ensure compliance with national and international standards and regulations (IEC, IEEE, NERC, etc.).
Manage the project's technical documentation.
Provide technical support to the operations and maintenance areas regarding protection and automation issues.
Participate in substation modernization projects (retirement of electromechanical relays, migration to digital systems, SAS/IEC-61850).
Perform protection calculation and coordination settings for digital relays.
Diagnose faults in protection systems and propose corrective actions.
Perform fault studies and post-operational analysis of events captured by relays.
