We are currently looking for an Accounting expert for our headquarters.

What you'll do

Support the team in developing market analysis, quantitative models, and analytical tools for energy markets, mainly in Spain and Portugal.

Collaborate in preparing forecasts and analyses that help the Short-Term Trading and Power & Gas Trading teams in decision-making, risk management, and identifying market opportunities.

Participate in the continuous improvement of forecasting methodologies, fundamental models, and analytical solutions, progressively gaining knowledge about Power & Gas markets and the tools used by the team.

  1. Monitor the evolution of electricity and gas markets, identifying the main factors that influence price formation.
  2. Collaborate in preparing market forecasts and fundamental analyses to support the decision-making of the Short-Term Trading and Power & Gas Trading teams.
  3. Participate in the development, maintenance, and improvement of fundamental models for electricity and gas markets.
  4. Provide support in the design and maintenance of price forecasting models, generation, demand, and other relevant market variables.
  5. Collaborate in the development and implementation of Machine Learning models and advanced analytics techniques when they add value to forecasting and analysis processes.
  6. Participate in the validation and monitoring of models through backtesting, benchmarking, and results analysis, proposing improvements with the support of the team.
  7. Work in a coordinated manner with traders, quantitative analysts, CWE analysts, and data and regulation teams in the development of new methodologies and support tools for the business.
  8. Prepare and present the results of analyses and developed models in a clear and structured manner, explaining the methodologies used, the main hypotheses, and the interpretation of the results.
  9. Contribute to the automation of processes, data processing and visualization, and the continuous improvement of the tools used by the team.
  10. Progressively acquire knowledge about the functioning of the Iberian and European energy markets, as well as the quantitative methodologies and tools used in the area. Monitor the evolution of electricity and gas markets, identifying the main factors affecting price formation.
  11. Ensure the implementation and compliance of Health and Safety, Diversity, Cybersecurity, Sustainability, Ethics, and Compliance policies, as well as the procedures and processes defined by the organization.
  12. These functions may be carried out in full or in part by the position holder, without prejudice to any other duties that may be assigned according to their qualifications, training, and experience.

What we're looking for

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or equivalent qualifications.
  2. Knowledge of energy markets.
  3. Quantitative modeling and thinking.
  4. Ability to communicate complex results.
